I had the same problem with the passenger front bolts.... they needed "extra pressure" for the bolt to reach the hole. but overall, it looks nice! one thing that does suck a little is the rear steps... they are so little now and the lady had problems using it to help her put in the carseat (whoops) heehee

I agree with you Dan. When I had my 15 Tacoma bought Nfabs and returned them. My driver side would not even bolt up. The fitment was way off. And the finish on them. Well I won’t go there. I bought these Tyger bars that look like sliders for my 4runner Pro. They have there act together. The finish and the fitment was write on. I love how they look and also protect from door dings. Also less money than Nfabs.

I changed some lights, tires and tinted windows...mind blowing huh
Once I got them mounted and I'm happy with them otherwise, final price was $289 so I'm good with them.

Those might be the nicest looking sliders I've seen. Do they function as steps, or not really.

Yes they do. I use them every time I get in. I’m 5’6 and they work nice getting in and out. Also great for door ding protection.

Two weeks ago I traded my '16 Tacoma TRD OR for a TRD Off Road Premium with KDSS. Very happy so far. Not missing it much especially the balky drive train. I do miss some of the bells and whistles from the Taco and the bigger display screen but so be it. I kept many things from the Taco (while waiting for the 4R to show up) most of which I sold off to recoup a chunk of change. Of the things I kept were my 4R TRD Pro wheels and the Wildpeak A/3TWs and my Rigid Radiance light bar. The dealer swapped the wheels and tires as part of the deal and only had to change over the TPMS sensors. The tires were the stock aspect size for the Tacoma so I sold those low miles tires and got a new set of Wildpeaks in the right size. Installed Pro Predator steps, vent shields, hood protector and got some Husky all weather floor liners. Pro grille and skid on the wish list.
Now on to the the light bar fitment into the new ride.
No laughing here please--I was bound and determined to install it without removing the entire bumper assembly as described in other posts and videos. Impossible you say? I did see a 20 inch one installed just removing the upper radiator cover and a lower shield and mounting brackets to the crash bar. The Radiance is a 32 inch single row baby with amber accent back lighting. I removed the upper radiator cover and began to think. I started to angle it in and saw the light. Just remove that driver side horn and it will go right in. I laid it on the crash bar and thought some more. Now a caveat; I figured whatever I did was going to be temporary. I just wanted it in so I could use it on the back dark roads of NC when I go up over the holidays. After lots of pondering I lifted it up to a position that looked good and saw where brackets could go from either top or bottom of the right length. Brackets? What brackets? I grabbed some black tie wraps and secured it in the center of the lower honeycomb grille. Grabbed some more tie wraps and before you know it it was level, centered and snug against the grille. TEMPORARY I said, remember? Ok, let's wire it up and see how it works. Began to think some more. I don't want to poke a hole in the firewall grommet, snake a cable in, pull the dash panel off and drill holes for switches (or even buy new switches for the blank spaces--need two; one for LED section and another for the back light). My only use for the LED section is when the high beams are on anyway and I wanted the back light to be on when it's dark and/or headlights are on. Can't see the back light much in daylight anyway. So who needs switches? I took the factory Rigid harness, connected the ground to the chassis and the fused hot side to the battery post. Took the high beam light plug and found the trigger side. Tapped into it with T-taps. Did the same for the back light trigger on the DRL plug. Don't know why Toyota did this but the DRL goes off when you turn on headlights. I may redo this tap to make back light operate when parking lights are on later. This would involve getting behind the weather cover of the headlight housing. When all is said and done, no brackets, no drilling, no cutting, no switches. So when the mood strikes I might remount with brackets (still no switches) and go from there. Bottom line is it works, looks great, is solid and was super easy. And I got to re-purpose my Rigid. DHM72QT2TcSmgoBg2XRyuA.jpg Remember--temporary!

Nice write up Jack!! I had one on my Tacoma. I want one on my 4runner just don’t want to remove the front bumper. Your 4Runner looks good.

Thanks. Will be happy to help if you need it. Did not take any in-process pictures since I thought the "word pictures" would do the trick. Do/did you have a Rigid Radiance? I really like the Rigid quality and the Radiance is affordable.

I had the Cali led bar. Was very happy with it. Thanks for help offer. I appreciate it. There is another light bar company I was just looking at them it mounts down thru the front grille by removing the black cover. But the light bar is not as long as the one you have. It also comes with the mounts. It is all done from the top of the grille. I think
It is KC lights. I will look for it.

KC Hilights!! Check out the install. I like your led bar better. It is longer like mine was on my Tacoma. More light.

They're not sliders, just steps. They bolt to the body same as the factory steps to. I have them on mine also and while I like them, I feel they stick out a little to far.

I just got home from work, parked in my driveway and turned off the vehicle, it did something it hasn't done before, when I turned it off the hazard lights flashed 1 time. I turned it off as normal and everything seemed fine, I'm sure it's some warning gizmo trying to tell me something.
The only thing I did out of the ordinary was back the 4runner closer to my garage door then I normally do because I'm expecting family to visit.
I tried Google with no luck and I'm trying to avoid running back outside in 20 degrees to get the manual, does anyone have input on this?

You probably hit the lock button on your key fob. That would do exactly what you saw happen.

Sorry have been very busy, i used Xeon Depot, so far i am very satisfied. I used the 5000k hid in the lows and 5500k led hi beams. Also changed my license plate and reverse lights with led as well. Only issue on install was i had to remove the rubber seal around the light and put the oem one off of the halogen bulb on, due to the size. But thats not a big issue just takes an extra minute at the most. I used silicone on the dust plate to be sure no dust or moisture gets in, thank you who mentioned it in this site, but forgot who did. As for pics i will try to get some, but it may be a little but till i can.

Had my TRD/ Michelin tires taken off for Winter. Put on the factory TRAIL rims, loaded with NITTO terra grappler G2's . They are remarkably smooth, and fairly quiet.

I need to do this, traded my lexus and miss having hid's, how are the aftermarket hid's in the long run, how long before something burns out or needs replaced? Mine were 8 years old 130k miles oem and had no issues.

    New Radio Install:

Swapped factory head unit for Pioneer Avic-5201NEX.
Used a Maestro RR datalink to keep steering controls, backup camera, and gives car info such as tire pressure, battery charge, door open, and gauge cluster readouts.
added sirius XM again (cannot keep factory) and new radio has Nav., so I added an antenna under the dash.

Here are a few pics from the build:
