Long story short, my daughter's black '06 was totaled a couple months ago and we have replaced it with a verified 1-owner lower mileage white '06 in even better condition, and for even less than she got from the insurance company for the one which was totaled. Anyway, the new-to-her 4R has remote start which is activated by a double press of the OEM fob's Lock button. Upon entry into the vehicle, the engine can then be shut off by simply pressing the brake pedal.

She does NOT want this feature to be active, and I have not been able to find a way to disable it. Have any of you seen or know of where I can find the details for disabling this feature?

Oh well. I guess the lack of response is not too surprising.

have you called a dealer, it might be something only they can change. Also why the need to disable it?

My daughter does not want the potential for inadvertently pressing the lock button twice while walking away and end up leaving the vehicle running for an extended period of time. I can't say that I blame her, either. We are much more of a "hands on" sort of family and do not like "remote functionalities" like that. I've trained my kids to pay attention to the sounds and details when starting an engine so that we are always in touch with how the engine startup process is behaving, and you can't do that when stating it from some remote location. It's more of a PITA liability than a benefit... for us, anyway.
