I have a 2007 SR5 purchased used. Recently had to have the windshield replaced. The replacement windshield had to be lowered as much as possible (too much) in the installation and still does not fit down into the cowl. With the "slightest" pressure on the cowl it goes under the windshield and the seal on the cowl top pops off. This did not happen with the old windshield. The installer insists it is the correct windshield and cowl and this is the way they are. I took the vehicle to a toyota dealership and they agreed this did not appear right and they had never seen this issue before. However they said the windshield they had for this vehicle was the same size and they did not know what was wrong. Can anyone offer some help with this issue???? I have been unable to obtain windshield dimensions for an original toyota windshield for this vehicle to see if it is different without having to purchase the windshield. Sorry for the long post. I'm frustrated and looking for answers. Thanks

    Is plasti-dip a mod?!
Try looking at other vehicles like yours, in person or pictures, to see if something is missing. Or even a repair manual. Something may have broken off or fallen down unseen.

I appreciate the reply. I did check numerous similar vehicles and none showed the same issue. I found nothing wrong with the cowl or it's location. Also, the dealership said there was nothing wrong with the cowl or associated parts. The dealership continues to work with me to try and determine what is is wrong, but to date they too remain confused as to what it might be.
