    Just did an Eibach Pro 2 lift on my 22 4 Runner. It lifted the front approximately 3 and the rear 1 inch. Ever since I’ve noticed people flashing their lights at me when I have my headlights on. Am I supposed to adjust the headlights as well? Even with the lift I know there are F150s that are still higher than mine. Thank you

    a few goodies
    Correct, after I did my lift / level, I got flashed a few times. The adjustment is easy, and the way the headlight cuts off at the top, it is easy to see the effect of the adjustment.

    I have not lifted my ORP but I would think raising the front more (3”) than the rear (1”) you have changed the angle by inclining the front aiming higher. If you lifted them the same (say 2” front and rear) then the angle stays the same but the elevation is 2” higher. I would think the angle change necessitates the adjustment more than if you raised front and rear the same?

    That lift effectively just raised the front end 2 inches relative to the rear. That makes a huge difference in beam height at a distance.

    I put masking tape on my garage door where my low beam cut off was before lift. After lift just adjusted them to the same height. I think they’re too low (maybe originally like that from dealer), so now park a few feet in front of my wife’s car and adjust so it’s just below top of her dash.

    Easy to adjust. Find a flat surface by a flat wall. Position the vehicle 25’ from the wall. Measure 3’ up from the ground on the wall, apply a line of painters tape at 3’ and as wide as the vehicle. Adjust the low beams until the top of the beam is at your 3’ tape line. Finished.

    How I wish we had auto levelling headlights as an option. I had a Ford Transit in New Zealand that had a little roller switch on the dash to adjust the aim height of the headlights...put a bunch of stuff in the van, lower the lights. Unload the stuff, raise the lights back to the empty height.

    I generally have to aim my lights every month because it will be empty for a few weeks, then loaded for a trip, then pulling a boat, then empty again. But at least I don't get flashed all the time anymore, and it is actually fairly easy to adjust. My next plan is to figure out how many turns to adjust for my typical camping weight, trailer weight, etc. and see if its repeatable without actually doing the wall measuring thing.

    Yep I tow my Seadoo often, got flashed alot the first time towing in the dark. now I keep a 8mm racketing wrench in the glove box and adjust the beams when I need too. simple 1 min adjustment

    Its not the height, its the aim. lifting the front more than the rear effectively aims the headlights higher. Not sure how it affects how the TSS crap works.

    I have a 23’ TRD Pro…. I can’t see shit at a distance with low beams. The hard cut off is so bad. Highs are fantastic… It’s gotta be the downward tilt of the front end right ? Just switched to Miromotos and it’s the same thing. It’s a brighter light and I love the look but damn, I guess I need a lift/balance kit now for front end ?

    The rear of our local Food Lion grocery store near the loading docks had a perfect flat area with a smooth white wall to facilitate adjusting headlight height.

    My factory LED headlights on my 21
    were giving me the same problems since day one. On a dark road, the brightness in the fore ground and the sharp cut off made it seem like I was driving into a black hole. Yes, they are horribly adjusted from the factory. However, They can stand quite a bit of upward adjustment before you start pissing off other drivers.

    It’s easy to adjust them…but getting a lift to avoid messing with those pesky adjusters sounds perfectly reasonable as well :D;)

    Funny you should mention adjustment. The dealer adjusted them to the highest the could go. Soooo that is when I decided to switch them out and still the aftermarket do the same. And yes. It is like driving into a black hole. It’s scary. I’ll do a slight lift in front. See how that goes.

    That’s surprising. Did you verify that they’re actually as high as they go? Mine go high enough that the sharp cutoff starts to soften due to the reduced angle. And high enough to get the high beams flashed at me by every oncoming driver. Mine aren’t at max adjustment because these LEDs are quite painful to look at directly if you’re an oncoming driver.

    Get some diode dynamics SS3 Pro fogs. They help a lot. Just can’t run them in traffic due to glare (although they claim they’re ok to run in traffic, my experience tells me otherwise).

    Low beams + DD Pro fogs are better than high beam only imo.

    Yah. I verified. And if the aftermarket’s which are basically brand new everything, meaning the whole headlight is replaced, then that should have fixed it. But it didn’t … so basically the front end being too low is my issue in my opinion.
