I'm really getting stoked and excited about my first 4ᚱunner!! It's probably very basic to the avid off-roaders, but this is my first time putting this much effort into mods rather than maintenance on a vehicle. That being said I think she deserves to be spoiled! Bonus, my husband (an engineer) loves tinkering with the 4ᚱ :D it's so plug and play and built like a Lego. A beast Lego
For anyone curious, I currently have:
    Flowmaster catback exhaust system
Converted the top grill to the TRD style with raptor lights
A Rough Country bumper with a Reindeer winch
Ditch lights (This was an impulse buy on his behalf LOL... don't know what brand they are)

Soon I'm going to get aluminum skid plates from Rival, yes, with the door for oil changes. Possibly will do a 2 inch lift from RC and an Airaid CAI snorkel at some point too... we plan on taking this on sand dunes and other ORV trails in the summer, so I'm looking for more than just beefy looks. We also plan on building a house off-grid so I want to be prepared for that too. The land is still very primitive!

Anything else we should we do next??? :transformer: If anything I'd like to boost performance somehow. Exhaust seemed to help a little with that20230527_092700-03.jpg 20230528_161118-01-01.jpg 20230528_122125-01.jpg IMG_20230528_190234_807.jpg

Nice 4R - and indeed a serious chick - with a probably a smart hubby helping you with the mods. As for performance, there are basically two things - regear and put a supercharger. I say do the regear as you start putting more things on the 4R.

The only performance mods I'd recommend are getting a tune, supercharger, or regear. A tune is the cheapest way to get a real increase in usable power.

Based on the pictures, it looks like you're getting your money's worth! Enjoy!

Nice rig! If I can give one piece of advice, it’s to ask yourself what each mod will give you, and what you’ll give up for it. Then get the best option you can afford (given your overall mod road-map). The 4runner from the factory strikes a fine balance. But it’s still fine to shift that balance! Have fun!

sorry, two pieces of advice lol

Welcome from Arizona! Use it for awhile and see what you think it needs next. Looking like a good start.

    Thank you!
Is the tune like Pedal Commander? (Cuz that's what I've been eyeing) Or something else, from a shop? And what is a regear? Transmission? Haha so many questions, sorry

No, a tune adds power. The pedal commander just manipulates how the pedal responds to your foot, making it feel more responsive, but doesn't actually make it faster. They're very popular, though.

A regear changes the gear ratios in the differentials. It's a good way to compensate for added weight and/or bigger tires on. I wouldn't regear unless I were pretty heavily modified, but it's a good option for those who are.
