So, i'm having some issues with the 3M double sided tape on my TRD Pro grill install. The tape keeps coming off. The surface is clean and i've heated the tape up, but it just keeps peeling off. Thinking of using some windshield glue lol but not sure how I would keep pressure on it long enough to cure. Any suggestions are appreciated!

What kit did you buy? I ended redoing all of my 3M tape with about 3 times as much as it came with. Its been on about a year so far, and hasn't moved. When you say coming off, do you mean coming off the truck side or the grill piece side? You may need to rough it up slightly to get it to stick.

I added more tape to mine as well. The sides still don’t sit perfect but I’ve seen factory kits the same way.

Not sure if it would help for taping this particular part, but you might try sanding the surface that you need to tape with something like a 220-grit sandpaper if the original surface was somewhat non-stick.

I purchased the grill from Overland Depot. The 3M tape provided was not nearly enough nor strong enough. I ended up purchasing the strongest grade 3M tape and used a ton of it to get the grill to conform and stick properly to the body. It is still not completely flush at both ends, but pretty damn good for now. Let's see how she holds up over time. I was tempted to use windshield glue, but couldn't figure out a way to keep it compressed up against the body while the glue cured.

After market, or OEM? I've heard the tape on some of the after market ones may not be of the highest quality. I installed an oem Pro grill and I got a very secure fit with the tape that it came with. I also wiped the original grille with rubbing alcohol.

What tape did you buy? I am dealing with the same issue. Not as concerned about perfect flush as I am the grille flying off.
