So thinking I was adding just a little more aggressive sound by going to a Flowmaster 50 series muffler on my 2018 (it worked on my Taco with the same engine) but I got way more interior drone this time than I gambled for. I went back to the muffler shop and they said my original muffler was gone to the scrap yard. He says an 18inch resonator between the cats and Flowmaster will quiet it down, it didn't. Now they want to stick an AP Enforcer II in place of the Flowmaster. I looked them up and theyre about as cheap as they come. I think the shop feels sorry for me and is just trying to help out on cost. I know an OEM muffler would be stupid expensive so that's probably not an option. What would you guys recommend for my predicament?

The Flowmaster was loud on my 2020 Tacoma and had drone. It was fun but I do not miss the noise. My 2016 Tacoma I used a Magnaflow SS and it was nice and tame. Slight increase over stock but not obnoxious and no drone.

If you want stock, put a post on here that your looking to swap exhaust systems with someone. I am sure someone will be more than happy to help.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.

I added a cat back on my last 4Runner, and ended up hating it. I added a cheap resonator tip that I picked up at an auto parts store, and it actually helped. It did not get rid of the drone, but it did reduce it.

Otherwise, look for an oversized glass pack type muffler, rather than a chambered muffler if you want to reduce the sound.
