Love the picture of the Barcelona Red - The 4R really 'pops' in that color - very rarely see one on the road. This is the color my Wife wants to match our Tacoma. Now if we could special order one with a 6 speed manual !!!!!!!

There is one dealership I ran across in SLC that only sale "salvage vehicles" though they call them something else. May want to check... I will try to find the name.

Edit: Prestman Auto = "branded titles" - I am in no way saying anyone should not buy salvage/branded. Just that it adds a extra level of research and risk vs reward to the process.

I just bought a red 2017 TRD Offroad Premium for $36,800 (vehicle price) plus $350 for dealer fee.
    MSRP was $40,098
The optional equipment that was included were both carpet and rubber floor mats , cargo liner, roof cross bars, door edge guards and wheel locks.
Does not have a sun roof or KDSS

Are these prices being stated before TTL or out the door?

The $36,800 is just the vehicle price (price of unit). That doesn't include taxes and registration as that changes depending at the state you're buying in and also the value of a trade in vehicle. I added the options that were included to my original post

In SF Bay Area best I could do on our 2016 Trail Premium was $1200 under MSRP and a reasonable amount for our trade. Dealers move their stock...................

Window and hood deflectors, Pro-Z running boards, 20% TINT, LED lamps interior.
I traded my 2017 2WD TRD Sport Tacoma with 9K for a 2016 4Runner Premium with 9K plus $750 cash. I paid $33500 cash for the Tacoma OTD last October (sales tax is $300 here no matter) With all the noise, transmission, and finally the differential recall I made the deal before I got the recall notice. ITs been at the Toyota Dealers a month. They had no parts or fix for the differential issue!!! So I paid $34250 for the 16 4Runner which I thought was fine since I was ridding myself of the troubled Tacoma.

NOW I am looking to trade it for a new Limited. My target is $8000 for a new 2WD Limited

I bought the new Spider 124 last January......it's a hoot But I like driving the 4 Runner just as much. I stopped driving my Tacoma and only used it when I needed the truck bed. I realized after three Tacomas I could fit everything I ever bought in a 4Runner.

SO I am stuck I love the 4Runner I bought but really would like the Limited package but it does not have the technology of my wife's leased 2017 CRV EXL Nav. No lane change, no automatic speed control, Auto wipers, and lights.

But $10 grand is too much to pay up to for the new car smell, a 17 from a 16

EDIT: I have since traded the SR5 and ordered a new Limited for $8700 cash and my SR5. Should be here on the 20th.

Greetings Y'all, have been enjoying the forum. I put a lot of thought into my purchase and thought to pass along the details. In an effort to control the conversation at the dealership, I wrote up an offer document, which is attached. Note I do not reference MSRP (in this case $39,512 for '17 silver 4R Premium w/ sunroof) but rather start with a discounted price, which I based on an aggressive 12.7% off MSRP. I'd been following prices via Truecar alerts, and kept track of best price discount % which in metro-west Boston was 11.2% off MSRP (This deal wasn't for a premium but I just wanted best case scenario...then I nudged the 11.2% up to 12.7%. I paid cash so financing was not part of my negotiation. The document caught the sales guy off guard. To his "so price wise, so where do you want to be" question I slid my document across the desk and said "here are my numbers". I admit offering $33,434.88 was a low ball offer, but I signed and dated the document, I think they knew I was serious, plus I took out my checkbook. I should point out, MA is a 6.25% sales tax state :annoyed:, as seen in my attached document, my offer price DID include this amount ($2,126.46). By the way, date-wise last day of June, last day of the 2nd quarter. After the finance guys reviewed my offer and tweaked their numbers, we were about $3K apart. I came up $1200 for various options like dealer installed running boards, cargo net, wheel locks and tonneau... I may have overpaid a bit for these. Now $1800 apart - surprisingly, I get the "lets split the difference" from the sales manager. So, out the door at $35,809 or 9.37% off MSRP, including tax, title, fees. In a no sales tax state, the price would be $33,759 or 14.56% off MSRP. From my own experience, I learned you have to be committed to taking the vehicle home that day. My strategy was to minimize dealer profit by hitting them with a written proposal before they could come at me with their "deal". They only bring about 125K 4Runners in a year, all get sold, and finding the color and options your want - they are scarce vehicles and the dealer knows this. To entice, I low balled my trade in (which was about to need $3K in repairs)...a silver 2002 4R SR5 with sunroof, 127K miles. My approach allows you to go in with confidence, leave nothing unknown, and have a very real idea how much off MSRP you can expect, best of luck!

Bought it in Colorado Springs. They initially offered $1900 off, but after talking to different dealers they accepted my $3500 off request, or else I'd go out of town to get one.

I should mention that since I'm in the military, I will have to Title/Register the vehicle in my Home of record State, however since I'm currently stationed elsewhere I am tax exempt. My title/registration fees should be roughly around $200 based on the last time I registered my Taco. All in all we are pretty happy with the deal, of course we would have love to have got it for less, but I think we did okay. Pretty stoked for my wife, "Happy Wife, Happy Life"
