I have the factory 120v/400w outlets and I am looking to increase it to 1500w. Can this be done or do I need to just add a separate inverter? I'm looking to power an OXX coffeebox while camping. 1450w
Any info will be greatly appreciated!

I mean, technically it is possible. You would need to replace the inverter itself, the wiring to the rear outlet should still be able to handle the load and the dash switch controls a relay so it wouldn't be running any more load. You might run into some issues with the power wiring to the inverter being substandard to handle increased load so that may need to be bypassed. Frankly I think it would be a PITA; my druthers would be to simply install the second inverter as a stand alone unit and be done with it. Not like having more than one is a bad thing, anyway!

Yeah, I'm thinking just a secondary will be the way.
    Thanks

a 1500watt ac invert er will suck up over 100 amps dc . so you will need big fat wires and a big fuse at the battery connection ... I would also run a ground wire also for a return to the battery.
