    Son bought a 2006 Sport 4WD V6, 207,000 miles.

We are pretty much overhauling everything and are down to the last set of things to do.
We are going to replace all the bushings and ball joints, inner/outer tie rods, etc....
But when we watched a few videos about removing/replacing the CV axles, the videos say to take both CV Axles out at the same time.

    1) Is this necessary to remove both CV axles at the same time?
Why can't we do control arm, CV Axle, tierods, etc... on one side.
Be done with it, then do the same thing on the other side?

    2) The front "parking light" is on all the time, regardless of the lever setting.
When I look at electrical schematics ( from Haynes Manual) I should be able to
pull a 10 amp fuse labeled "tail fuse", or pull the "Tail light relay" and check them.
I pulled the fuse and the light was still on. I cannot find the relay that is supposed to be in IP driver side junction box. There are no relays in there.
I am suspecting the lever in the steering column is bad, but It's easier to check the fuse and relay first.
    any suggestions?

1: No. You can do one side at a time just fine. Haynes manual is full of crap.

2: Day time running lights. Dealer can turn it off for you using Techstream or you can download it and install it on a laptop yourself, get the right cable (Tactrix or something) and use Techstream to turn it off yourself.

Techstream is also helpful for bleeding the brakes and changing some other settings, assuming you are doing all this work yourself. Not needed, just useful.

GREAT! Thank you for the info!
Good to know we can do CV axles just fine and I'll leave the running lights alone...

All I get is this little box?!
You can in fact do one side at a time. A word of warning...... Make sure you can get the fill plug out of the differential before you pull the drain plug. Thing is known for being a pain in the ass and stripping out.

Also, replace with one of these.

OH, so they did do a design change!! Good to know.
We drained it out last week, then realized we are going to have to add more when we work on the CV axle boots.
We are also going to change the seal while the CV axles are out.

So the fill and drain plug are the same?
And the new plug require the same type of washers?

That's actually a Lexus plug but still same/same. They can still be a bitch to get out tho. I mangled the head on mine last oil change and need to order another.

No the drain and fill are different. The one I posted is a replacement for the fill plug.

With the diff seals, seat them straight and finish seating them with the CV axles. If you seat them all the way they'll probably leak.

FYI for your #2 question there are relays in/on all of the junction boxes. The engine bay boxes are obvious. the Cabin driver side junction box is deceiving as theyre behind the panel itself.
