    Looking for inspiration…
Hi y’all! I’m a new member with a 2017 Limited. My birthday was Monday and the Hubs has gifted me a lift/tires/wheels . Since neither of us are familiar with this topic I need y’all’s input. All I do know is the XREAS suspension limits me as to what we can use??? My “Old Gray Mare” likely won’t see much off-roading so I’d just like a beefier look.

First let me tell you I haven't found a more comfortable onroad suspension than XREAS with any of the suspension I've tried.

I asked the shop to see if I can keep the XREAS and do a lift? But the answer was XREAS rear shocks are too short you better not lift the rear. So I end up removing XREAS. Here's what I have now on my Limited. These Ironman FCP are OK but not good as the ELKA 2.5DC I got on my TRD ORP. If you are looking at Ironman FCP have some patience and pay attention to the height and springs I used. I'm no expert but it my opinion as a regular user.

I have a 2014 limited and it is the only 4runner I have ever driven so my input is limited (no pun). Previous owner removed xreas after it began leaking at 96k miles. Replaced with tokico shocks before I purchased. My truck rides awesome. Still have the original 20" rims and OE size General Grabber HT60 tires. Not sure how this truck could ride any smoother than current setup. I did install a cornfed 3/4" spacer up front to level it out somewhat. No body roll or nose dive. 34 psi cold tire pressure on all 4 corners.

Welcome and happy birthday. I have a 2018 Limited and was also looking to ditch the 20 inchers for a beefier look when I first got it a few months ago. I ended up getting a set of Toyota off road premium wheels (17x7.5) I found on Craig’s list and had the Falken Wildpeak AT in oem size 265/70/17 installed. Great tire in the wet and snow too. 0083A80C-4628-4C0D-9885-11462F390E2F.jpg

Lifting changes your center of gravity and you're limited because of xreas.

Wheels are worth changing because 17 inch rims give you more wheel choice, but beefier looks come with a price - ride comfort. Most people here are truck folks who are used to turning up the radio to drown out road noise. Keep that in mind when someone recommends k02s, which are great tires, but louder than defenders.
