Thank you so much, that set up uses less steel than my design. Going back to drawing table.!!

Take lots of pictures of your process. He doesn’t have a lot but explains it well. Yes I say this because I want to use your ideas when I get around to mine lol.

Keep the tire as close to the rear hatch as possible. You don't want that weight hanging out too far as the further out it goes, the more stress on everything it's attached to.

    Looks good so far otherwise.

So, to expand on my reply, I built my own rear bumper/swingout as well. I made the swingout so it can carry a 37" tire eventually, as that is my plans for the future. I was still able to tuck it up super close to the hatch and there is no issue with it hitting the hatch in any circumstance, other than maybe getting rear ended.

I went with a single swing out and used CAD to figure it all out.

Been super happy with the result tho and the swingout works like a champ, every time. Highly recommend using the 4xInnovations hinges for their strength and reliability. The latch I used is also from 4xInnovations.

I've since added soft shackle friendly tow points and moved the high lift jack onto the swingout.

Hope that helps and gives you some ideas. Not a double swingout, I know. But after considering it, I decided it would be a PITA always having to open both to open the hatch for anything.

No, it's all welded together by me. I used 3/16" plate and just glued it all together and then lots of grinding. Holds up good tho!

Thanks! I love CAD, much easier to visualize what you want to do. Just slower.
