4Runner Fun Build

I got the half height bar as the full bar seemed too high. I installed it myself a few times. It has weight but if you have anyone that can help you it goes a long way. If not you can do it yourself (as I have done 1 time).

 

@GrantA I had actually saved this photo to show my wife what our 4Runner would look like. What was your tire set up at this point?

 

I had 265/70/17 Toyo AT3. Pretty much bone stock on the car. All I had at this point was a roof rack, awning, skid plates, and rock sliders. I am glad you like it though.

 

Ha, must have a good angle. Tires look much taller to me. Your current build looks awesome but my wife will never go for it.

Just have 4 more lights to install and then done.

 

I like the look of those angled rock sliders. Do they stick out far enough to be used as a step?

 

Thank you. Yes I step on the kick outs all the time. The other parts you can stand on but it is more of the tip toes when the door is closed. When the door is open I put my foot sideways and have plenty enough room.

Can’t beat it for $1.25 so now I get to paint it to match the 4Runner

Great build man. I am getting ready to start on mine and am wondering if you had to do anything besides the lift to get the 285/75's to fit. I plan on doing a viper cut and have the C4 small bumper on order. The wheels I am going to use are method's 0 offset.
Anything else I should know?
Are you happy you went bigger instead of doing the 285/70's?

Thank you. I like the 285/75 tires as they are a 34” tire. If you are staying with stock gears don’t get the bigger tires. If you do not plan on doing a BMC don’t get the bigger tires. I slightly rub in reverse at dead lock going downhill. I need to do some more cleanup. Yes overall I like the bigger tires and the stance on the vehicle. It is a lot taller than stock. Just make sure you account for the extra weight on your suspension with the bumpers and such.

 

Thanks for the reply! I am already running a 33" (285/70/18) and these would give me a little less than 1" larger. Not afraid to do the BMC, and will be switching to 17" wheels soon.
