Sold my audi s4 today and picked up a new 4 runner limited. Very pleased with it, Different animal for me. Is the toyota extended warranty 8 years 100k miles worth it? Also has anyone put trd trail wheels on their limited?

Welcome to the forum... ehh well the thing with toyotas is there pretty darn reliable. So the warranty is nice for the peace of mind. But you probably won't need it. And yes alot of people swap out their limited wheels for trd pro or trd offroad wheels.

    Enjoy your new ride!

Here is a picture of my old 2016 limited. The only difference in ride was over bumps and potholes. Had a 7 year 125k warranty on it and never used it. Sold it with 110k and not a single issue. Mainly purchased the warranty because of the XREAS and automatic running boards.

I have my 4runner for 1 year, no issues at all. not sure you will need the warranty with the Toyota 4runner . just make sure to do oil changes and other fluids on time. I have the TRD Off road wheels I wish I picked up the bronze TRD Pro wheels. but all 4runner wheels looks good.

Welcome. Nice thing about the 20" wheels on a T4R is less body roll. Truck came with 17's but I run 20" OEMs on our SR5 for improved highway handling.

Those TRD rims look very nice. I have never driven any other 4runner other than my limited with OE 20" rims. Previous owner had Xreas removed around 90K miles due to leak. Replaced with Tokico shocks. No body roll or nose dive at all with my truck. I do like the thought of larger tires someday so may consider TRD rims when the General Grabber tires wear out. I am at 131K miles and truck drives great with no repairs needed. Me personnaly would pass on an extended warranty and apply funds to mods, etc. Very reliable vehicle.

I made the decision to swap the 20’s for 17” ers when I started looking at replacing the tires. I found all 5 rims on Craig’s list for $450. Between the cost of the rims and 17” tires being less expensive this swap only cost me a couple of hundred more than if I just replaced the 20” tires.

I put 17” TRD wheels on my 2020 Limited. Do not notice any increase at all in body roll or brake dive. The XREAS takes care of that.

The 17” rims look better, reduce rolling weight, give you more tire sidewall to absorb impacts or air down for snow or off road, and also give you way more tire choices.

20” rims on a 4Runner is just dumb. They’re only there for looks, and most of us on the forum think they actually look worse.

The single potential downside is that they are harder to balance, and 4Runners are known to be sensitive to wheel balance. You often have to do a RoadForce balance, and with the system set up for lug centric balancing — not hub centric. I learned that the hard way.
