I recently bought a 1994 4x4 4Runner auto trans. My DumbAss luck the thing blew a HG on the way up the pass going home. (temp gage never left Normal ! ) I've been debating what to do rebuild 3.Slow, part it out, 3.4 swap with an Auto trans ???? I recently located a 1998 4Runner 4x4 A/T that's wrecked. I can get the whole ball of wax for PB $600. Any info on how hard/involved it would be to take Motor ,Trans,T-Case, harness, computer and maybe f-axels do to right and left Drive-line differences ?? I've wanted a 4Runner for decades and now this happens ! I'm an x-auto mechanic. Good with mechanical, can Weld, cut. Mild fabricate. A little Weak/Scared on the Elec. Side but I can follow directions. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED ! Anybody out their that's done this I'd love to hear from you. Thanks guys ! PS I've already called Toyota their 1-time free HG replacement under recall was done on mine already 20years ago.
