    Hey everyone.

I'm nearing the end of a rebuild on a 2nd Gen 4R, and I really want a mostly stock look.

I've seen so many 2nd gens lifted, or on aftermarket wheels, so I was really hopeful I'd be able to find a set of original 2nd gen rims.

If anyone knows where I could find a set, or has one they'd be willing to sell, please reach out!

Thanks for looking man I really appreciate that!

Unfortunately I'm down in SWF, shipping those with the tires would be a bit of a hassle, and I've had to toss those tires anyway.

I did manage to find a set on eBay last night! They look rough, but mostly just dirty and some oxidation. I got them for 400 bucks, which isn't a great deal, but most sets I've seen online have been in the 850 range. I'm going to use some good chemistry and elbow grease to get them looking right.

2.5" lift, Black Magic fan, Borla exhaust, Raptor Liner overspray,
How successful was the clean up? Any tricks that helped? My daughters Jeep TJ had rough looking silver rims and I scuffed them and panted them satin black with clear coat, she likes then.

A sandblast with some silver and clear powder coating will bring them back to life.

I love those wheels! I wish somebody made them in 17 inches to fit modern 4Runners.

    Best looking Toyota wheel ever.

Unfortunately haven't been able tackle them just yet. I had a local rim shop look at them. Guy told me he could throw them on his CNC and give them a light skim, then a light sand blasting, and then powder coat them, for $300 a rim. Also gave me the option to just do a light dusting sand blast, and then powder coat for $175 per rim. I think I'm going to go with option 2. I'm wanting this thing to look great, but I'm trying to be reasonable. Either way, the guy said he was about 2 months backlogged with work, so it's going to be a while before I see them.

I graduate in May, and have a few months off before I start work, so going to get after this thing hard!

Thanks man, I love them too. I feel like they will really take this 4Runner back to it's former glory! Can't wait to get the tires mounted on them - I'll for sure get some pictures posted!
