So just recently bought a 4Runner and excited to start doing some mods on her. First thing I was wanting to do was install some raptor lights but am torn between amber and the white ones (white would be smoked lens)

here’s a picture of my 4Runner for reference

I know it’s not that important but I can’t decide and figured some other opinions would help. My current thought process is the amber is more typical for these but also very common. But they would also contrast nicely to the white. But the white would look nice with white DRLs I’d have in my headlights in a future upgrade. And they would also match the car but don’t know if that’s too much white. Posted some examples for ref.

I think you answered your own question here, especially if you're indifferent between the two... If you're upgrading your headlights down the road to have a nice bright white LED DRL design, the white raptor lights would match better imo

White. Clean and bright. Or yellow to match the bow.

Welcome, great choice in color. Too bad about the “bow”

Note that when driving... u cant see output from those raptors.
Personally would pick amber whichever is more useful in inclement weather.

Do your homework as to the proper way to hook them up to reduce the chance of introducing electrical gremlins.

Someone had a thread here a couple of weeks ago where they were troubleshooting an electrical problem that may have been a result from his raptor light installation.

This!!! Lol I always hated "raptor" lights. Unless they are on a raptor, trx or braptor.

Welcome. Carmax didn't let me keep my bow either. LOL.

Answering the question, it's your decision, but my opinion is keep all the same color lights. Which ever you choose.

Personally I don't like raptor style grill lights. Since pre-2021 have both highbeam and DRL on the same reflector housing and there is LED bumps that can function as both DRL and highbeam I never had a need to have raptor style grill lights.

    upload_2023-2-2_13-47-20.jpg

But when I convert my 2021 to quad highbeams I lost my DRLs having to get raptor style grill lights to function as DRL. I didn't care much about the color but all I want was it to be smoked lens.

I vote for no "Ford" raptor-looking lights.

Always wire auxiliary lighting independent of any existing vehicle electrical circuits with relays and/or diode isolation. Most everyone doesn't want to spend the extra money and time for relays/wiring and assume that the poorly written instructions from a company in China are always correct.

I like the old rectangular amber ones, tied into their own switch.

IMHO avoid them all together every 4Runner on the road has them and you’ll stand out more without.

Carmax has lost trade-in businesses to the likes of Carvana...:)
