    Beautiful 92 runner
My 92 runner 3.0 litre is lacking power at 100km plus. When i'm going down the road and if there is a slight incline I have to A) basically floor my pedal the amount of play before it down shifts is amazing and b) the rmps depending on the hill get to about 4200. for a V6 it should be able to hold it's own at highway speeds but it has to kick down 1 or two gears in order to maintain 100km+. I have done a few things to it, replaced the timing belt, compression test (170+ accross the board), replaced spark plugs and wires, new air filter even adjusted the cable for my down shift and I have a brand new exhaust with cad in it. any help would be awesome I am about to look at the EGR valve and the distributor because the power in lower gears seems to be fine. the transmission works amazing and shifts smooth but for some reason it's lacking power in higher gears on the hills. any input is appreciated! i love this truck and would like to keep it for a long time

Check your throttle position sensor adjustment. Mine would do that (actually why I got a good deal) when I bought it. Installed and adjusted last week and it's great.

Hello, did you able to figure out what was the problem? I have '94 4runner, 3.0 EFI, auto trans, loaded and the symptoms are the same. I changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, MAF and still the same. Please let me know the fix.

Any update on this? It sounds like the same problem of my 3.0 EFI. I'm interested on how to fix this problem. I changed the transmission filter/fluid also but no change. Any ideas?

3" lift but mostly all stock not a scratch on it it is pristine condition amazing for being 19 years old.
he is right adjust the kickdown linkage at the trodel body they get stretched out after a while. do it in small incrom inches until it feels right. IF ITS ADJUSTED TO THE MAX ITS TIME FOR A NEW TRANS CABLE. LARRY B

Did this ever get sorted out? My 91 is a manual trans but 4th and 5th gear had same issue. It was timing.
