I have a 2016 4Runner Trail Premium with KDSS. So far I love the truck. But, I have a small problem.
Has anyone else had a temporary loss of compression, at least it feels like that, when I am accelerating, usually when cold. It just pauses for 1-3 seconds. I have had it to the dealer twice. So far they blamed it on the Ecoboost function.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this?
Are other 4 Runner owners experiencing anything like this? Thanks!

    Is plasti-dip a mod?!
Nothing here, but that sounds like ECU programming. ecoboost is ford, their turbo stuff. Throttle by cable is no longer, it is throttle by wire, so ECU controls the response to gas pedal input. Hope this helps in some way!

Thank you! Sorry about the Ecoboost term slip up. The service guys suggested once it might be some Eco-something.

I will pass that on to the dealer, they have no idea. They said they will get the Regional Mechanic to look at it for me. I am wide open to other suggestions. Thanks for your thoughts!

They might have been referring to the eco mode, basically gas sipping mode to save fuel. But keep us posted as to what they find out for you!
