Hello I recently changed the two shift solenoids in my a340e. Everything was fine after I changed them so I drove around then came home and parked. Wake up the next day and it wouldn't go in reverse (worked directly after replacing the solenoids). It also drives while in neutral. I do some investigating and can't even see the level of the tranny fluid on the dip stick so I had to add a full quart of fluid on top of the 1.7 that I already added back in after the job.

My theory: Something welded together in the Tranny due to low fluid.

My hope: Its something small I can fix myself.

    Thanks for any input!

Shoot man, I had this happen or similar. Soon after I replaced tranny. It would drive In neutral and no reverse though it was revving up. May be a chance that you're shifted position sensor on side of tranny is jumbled out of position -got loosened up but I think you're trannys done. Only knowledge I have is that my situation sounds similar.

Whatever happened with this? In having the exact same issue right now with my 2000 2wd and really hoping it's not the whole transmission.
