Motopato, was your truck purchased in Chile from a dealership there or imported from elsewhere. Is the owners manual in Spanish or English and wondering what engine oil recommendations are given such as only 0W20 or also other grades allowable such as 5W20, 5W30 etc ? Thanks.

    Hi Foothills,

I purchased my truck from a dealership here. According to what I understand, Toyota sells the 4Runner in Chile and Colombia. In Chile, they offer the SR5 4x2, SR5 4x4 and Limited. As of today, a 2023 4Runner Limited sells for US$ 55.067 (44.490.000 in chilean pesos). But the vehicles sold in Southamerica are not exactly the same as the ones sold in the US and Canada. For example, my Limited as no push button Start/Stop, nor TSS, nor LBJ sound system, no XREAS.

The owners manual is in spanish and the recommended oil, depending on the temperature, is 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30, but the preferred oil is 0W-20. I included some pics.

I already made a nice trip to the southern tip of the Carretera Austral (austral road), which is 1247 kms (775 mi) long (round trip from my house was 3300 mi). Lots of non paved mountain roads, some dangerous, but the 4Runner was really flawless. I'm planning more trips, though. This is the end of the road, in Puerto Bahamondes.

    Hello Motopato

I also have a Limited and I live in the Dominican Republic. We only get the 4x2 SR5 and the Full Time 4WD Limited. We basically share the same model but my manual only says 5W-30 and 10W-30 as the "approved" oils, no 0W-20 nor 5W-20. Maybe is because we have hot temps all year long. "Winter" season we see maybe 24C to 28c , now it´s up to 33c. Dealer uses Original Toyota Blend 10W-30. To my surprise the 2023 models came with smart key and push button start. Then the same, no TSS, no LBJ sound and no Xreas or KDSS suspension, only normal suspension. We also don´t get Air Injection, that´s for emissions only. And the rims are 18 inch vs 20 inch in North America. I think 18 inch helps a bit with comfort.

    Hi 4runner75,
At my last oil change (10.000 Kms.) the dealer used 5W-30 also. I found it after reading the post-service form. Maybe is cheaper oil? Here in Viña del Mar, where I live, temperatures are between 5°C and 25°C year long, probably lower or higher than that a couple of days a year. I agree, the 18" is better for comfort, specially off road. Regards.

Hi @Motopato, Did you purchase this new in Chile? If so, do new cars in Chile come with physical owners manuals? or do they usually use online?
