I just installed the factory TRD Pro tube rack on my wifes 2022 TRD Offroad Premium. She wanted the rack since it matches the look of our FJ that we traded in on the 4R.

I have the factory rails in black. Is there a need for them? Do some 4Runners come without any rails? I have no need for the rails that came with our 4R and I don't want to just pitch them. Not looking to get anything for them.

The cross bars? Not all 4R come with them and there is a market for them used. Side roof rails? Yeah all 4R come with those but they are still frequently sold used so there's some market for them.

My personal suggestion would be to keep them in case you decide the Pro rack isn't as useful as you think it's going to be. Tuck them in your garage rafters or something. But, failing that, you could most certainly give them away or sell them through this site.

Side rails not cross bars. We did not get cross bars. Tube rack will stay. I have surf fishing rod tubes that I made from 6" dia PVC pipe that attached to our FJ tube rack with racing weight clamps. FJ rack tubes and 4R rack tubes are the same dia. I wil be using the 4R for trips to the Outer Banks in the fall and spring. Surf roads even broken down are too long to fit inside 4R unless you run them all the way to the dash.

Amazon.com: Weight clamp 1-1/2" Aluminum 1-1/2 Ballast Mount IMCA : Automotive

I 'll put the side rails up on the for Sale forum when I get them pacakaged up and weighed. Cost will be my out of pocket shipping.

Personally, I would hang on to them in case you decide to sell or trade that vehicle. Take the Pro rack off, it's worth more money to sell, then you can put the original rails back on it.

I'm in the same boat. I took off my factory roof rack (it has the cross bars too), to install a Victory 4x4 rack, and I know for a fact I would never put it back on. It's sitting on the side of my house, I'm too lazy to make a run to the landfill. If anyone wants a brand new OEM roof rack off a TRD ORP, come to Colorado Springs before I become unlazy. :D

I could use the side rails as I already have the caps if you decide to list them.

How long are your surf rods? I fit rods up to 7',6" in my rod rack on the ceiling.

I'd be interested to see pictures of your tube setup. Do you take off the reels to fit them in the tube?

I thought about doing the rail delete, but I think I prefer the look of the rails and they come in handy as a grip when I wash the car. Don’t have cross bars and if I did, I would have removed for mpg. I travel light, so if it doesn’t fit in the back, it doesn’t go.

Yes the reels come off. They are stored individually in Crown Royal bags. The heavers are 13' and 13.5' long, so broken down is almost 7' per section.
Some of the other rods are in the 10-11' range. 6-7 rods usually.

These are the best pics I could find of how I had the rod holders attached to our FJ. I put pipe insulation on the rods to protect them during transport.
