    Hey everyone!

Just picked up a 2021 4Runner Venture Edition in Barcelona Red over the weekend after coming to the (sad) realization that with a kid and two dogs, my '14 Tacoma was very cramped.

Anyway, went to my local dealership expecting to just sit in a '17 SR5 when this big bad girl caught my eye. I told the salesman to grab they key just for giggles and well, here we are.

I don't have TOO many plans except to potentially get some more aggressive rubber, take off the roof basket (no need to have it until I go on vacay or something), and add in some various aesthetic mods. As the truck's my daily/family vehicle I don't want to murder MPGs/drivability too much.

Very excited to find some local trails and get some mud on the tires and test out a-trac as well as all of the other off-road features.

Welcome! That's a great looking 4R, Barcelona is a fantastic color and I think the Venture edition is a very solid package

    You're going to love it!

When I retired or just about, my wife's Xterra blew a head gasket (a '95). I had bought a '69 FJ40 for a hobby/fun car. Decided to replace the Xterra. Went to look at a 4Runner and one went on the lot the morning we went to look. No contest! Only 17K miles and a 2019 in Nautical Blue=I hate silver and white as much as I hate white bread=they're so BLAHH!!. Then the tranny blew in my Frontier, so I sold the FJ40 and bought the wife a (matching blue) RAV4. I got the 4Runner. We paid cash for both (both had very low mileage) so we wouldn't have to worry about payments or repairs while retired! Great move!! The RAV handles our snowy roads in eastern WA and the 4Runner handles trips (a few through blizzard conditions). We have access to 2 pick-ups if we need to carry a load that doesn't fit!

    Good choice!

Thank you! I'm definitely loving it so far and can't wait to drive it more. I never heard of the Venture Edition before sitting in it Saturday and really like the idea behind it. Basically a OR Premium and then some! I have had a couple people ask why I didn't get a TRD model though because the Venture seems to have come unbadged haha

Nice 4R man - I really like the black door handles and mirrors on it.
Is your basket off center a bit and resting on the two plastic end caps on the driver side?
Mine is and I can't figure out why it's like that. (I've tried everything haha)

    Welcome!

Hmm looking from the rear it does seem to be an inch or two towards the driver's side but I didn't notice any plastic end caps. Where are they located on the basket?

Yours looks like it's on there better than mine.
Mine is resting on the plastic caps of the roof rails.

I've tried everything to make it so it's not. lol
