Hello! River, my 1989 4-runner, is in need of your advice and experience. The frame around the windshield is rusted through in many places, making windshield replacement undoable. Does anyone have experience or advice? Thanks in advance!

Throw yourself at your local reputable body shop's tender mercies.

This is going to take a good deal of money, welding and body work to fix.

Usually when things get to this point, there is major rust elsewhere on the car and it's just time to say goodbye.

Ouch! that looks painful The Parts that it would take to fix are available but you will be looking at $3500 in parts alone then labor with paint works it could hit $7000 for a good shop to do it if they will and the reason if they will is tossed in is because both front fenders and the Doors have to be removed to do the work and what is underneath may be just as bad.

is it worth it? not that kind of investment when it could have other serious rust like bad frame and end up being a money pit.

KO2, RCI Skid and filler plate, Caliraised ditch lights, seat jacker clones, aluminum oil filter housing and fumoto drain.
Parroting what the other members have said here, at this point, I would be more worried about the frames' condition.. bummer.

It's a big repair from what I've seen. I'd cut and run but I could find a cheap replacement pretty easy so I wouldn't bother with the work.

Looking at those pics makes me think of the day you gotta put your dog down. Hate to do it, but it is time.

Same for your 4R. It's time.
