The oem fog lights don't have a separate bracket that can be reused - it's part of the light housing. So yes, just the screws are reused.

Anyone have a close up shot of the DD Pro after proper aiming? I’m wondering what the angle looks like so I have a good starting spot at time of install.

I wasn't able to do the 25' thing, so I used painters to tape to mark on the wall where the top of the beam pattern was on my outgoing lights.

I can’t find the thread now. But someone mentioned the positioning of the light in the bracket. Too far forward or backward and you couldn’t adjust it down (or something like that). Anyone remember their positioning in the bracket?

If the pod is positioned too far forward in the bracket, you will limit the amount of aiming possible.

Got my fog lights installed. Just used the tape method for now. Man even with stock size tires, it's a PITA getting your hands in there and tightening stuff done. Will get it out tonight and see how they look. even in the garage, they had a nice cutoff at the top and had a much wider beam.

Installed some 4Bangers for fog lights and I can't get it down far enough =(

@Metalsaber Yeah it's a pain to get it to. Out of frustration, I just remove the bumper.

Truth be told, by the time you get all of the 10mm fasteners out of the inner fender well / liners, it's only another 5 minutes of work (and no tools) to remove the whole bumper cover.

I installed my Pro’s. Initial impression… beyond satisfied. The glare is insane, but I knew that going in. They light up the tree tops. Even when aimed very low, it’s unavoidable.

I actually wanted something that would double as an off-road light, as I only use fogs on the road in the most extreme low-visibility conditions.

Install was a breeze, but yeah it’s tight going in through the fender well. I’d recommend getting an “L” shaped allen wrench for aim adjustment instead of the “all in one” type wrench that I had on hand. There’s room to adjust the inner bolts from underneath the truck. But the outter bolts aren’t visible from under the truck and they’re hard to get to from the fender. It’s just an odd spot to reach and see. Especially with a chunky allen wrench set.

I only had trouble working with the allen wrench on the outer adjustment screws. Everything else was easy.

So I'm still working through adjusting the fogs to get them proper. It's harder finding a place that has nice flat ground and has a distance of 25' away to get them properly aimed. I've adjusted them higher than originally installed so they throw further out than before. They have a definite cutoff. So if you were an owner of the Pros, I would highly suggest you think about what this means. Someone posted in a youtube video about them being over priced in comparison to the Pros with less output. That's not true. What they are seeing is that there is less spill in comparison to the Pros which makes it appear as if they have less output. The Pros lend themselves to poor road etiquette imo as they are likely offensive to oncoming traffic if adjusted to a point that appears good to the driver. The max allows you to adjust for further out but without the spill. So again, just a caution as people considering upgrading might consider it a downgrade.

I had the same problem, so that's why I just did the tape in my garage since the previous ones were aimed at 25'.

I did the tape initially with my factory fogs but they were pointed so low the new fogs were of no actual benefit.

That's pretty much my experience in going from the Pro to the Max.

I installed my Pros and pushed them all the way forward in the bracket so they contacted the surround on the truck. Then I pushed the bottom of the Pro back so there’s about a 1/4” gap (or slightly less). I left the top of the fog light in contact with the surround.

Seems to result in a pretty good aim.

That sucks. Definitely makes it more difficult for you to get good aim.

I bought the SS3 Pro white fog light. I’m going to aim them like a headlight because the stock headlights with Morimoto 2Strokes LED bulbs are pretty poor.

Based on personal experience, I think you're going to find that oncoming drivers won't like that aiming. Remember, the Pros are significantly more powerful than a low beam headlight.

I would say 50% here drive with their high beams on so I don’t mind blinding them back.

I have the Baja designs, I am sure that there are probably equal quality loghts available from brands for less money.

I just installed SS3 Pro white fog lights. The width, throw, and brightness are insane. It was hard to aim because there is no sharp cutoff. I tried to aim them a tad lower than the the low beams. They also have more throw than Morimoto 2Stroke low beams. Now I must do something about my terrible low beams.

I always notice Teslas usually light up the road to the extreme and over power the lights of most cars around them. Now driving next to a Tesla my SS3 Pro fog lights over power their lights.

I got the Pro yellows. They’re insane, I agree lol. I love them. But the glare for oncoming drivers is also insane, so I’m cautious when/where I use them. I just kinda treat them like I would a high beam. Do I really need to be using them while driving around town? Absolutely not, although I’d like to.

Fortunately, you can aim them super low and still get huge benefit. It’s tempting to aim higher, but it’s simply not necessary in my experience with them.

I was looking at some of the youtube videos of people saying how great their fogs were and showing them off and they are aimed the same height as their low beams. The fogs should never throw as far as your low beams otherwise you haven't aimed them properly and are blinding oncoming traffic.

Good on you for judicious use of your fogs. A low beam angle on wet, or really any shiny road surface, can create severe reflected glare to oncoming cars.

I use my fogs a lot when turning into dark streets or parking lots to light up the dark corners better.

Yep I tap mine on quick for wide cornering light too.

You saying that if fogs are aimed too low, they can cause road glare to other drivers?
