I'll give you two options, one is as cheap as possible, the other is the most basic kit I would personally would buy. Having said that if it was my 4Runner I'd do ICON all around.

    1. Cheap

    Front Spacers
    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/TAC25--25-Front-Spacer-Kit_p_306.html

    Rear Spacers
    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Rear-15-lift-Black-Spacers-Poly-for-FJ4Runner_p_165.html

    2. Less cheap, better stuff

    Front Coilovers
    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/ToytecBilstein-5100-coilovers_p_363.html

    Rear Springs
    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/RCC20--ToyTec-Superflex-Rear-Coils-FJ-03-4Runner_p_25.html

    Rear Shocks
    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/RFJ-BIL--Bilstein-5100-Series-Rear-shocks_p_269.html

    Upper Control Arms
    http://jbaoffroad.com/toyota/jba-std-high-caster-upper-a-arms-for-2005-14-toyota-tacoma.html

Obviosly there is a huge price difference between the two. But so is the quality of lift and ride.

You could do without the rear spacers if you went with 2" front spacers instead of the 2.5" that I listed. I provided the link for the 2.5" spacers because its the maximum lift without needing aftermarket UCA's and will get you the most clearance for your 285's. Because its a 2.5" lift, I added the 1.5" rear spacer to keep things as level as possible so the nose wasn't high.

Here's the link for the 2" front lift. No rear lift needed.

If you just lift the front 2" you are going to have reverse rake with nothing loading down the back like kids and groceries. If you raise the front 1" your frame will be perfectly level, which is what you want. Honestly, reverse rake looks terrible on any vehicle. If you go 2" front, you need a 1" rear spacer.

You purchased large tires that weigh a ton. I would have done more research before buying them because they are MPG killers.

When I was looking for a small front lift, I searched Bilstein 5100's and I read lots of threads. I leaned not to go over 1" front without a rear spacer.

ok guys, thanks for the advise but both are giving me contradictory statements. I just want to level the 4R so It can clear the tires.

and I got the tires from a friend so it was a good deal and mpg its not a big problem I guess. thanks for the tip on the mpg. ill look into a bullydog later for gas savings programing.

so I to level the truck and keep it like it its a 1" or 2" front kit?

I do not think you will get a full 2" lift if you install the 2" spacers on your 4Runner. The spacers are the same for the Tacoma, FJ, and 4Runner, with the 4Runner being the heaviest of the three vehicles. I installed another Toytec lift on my 4Runner that was advertised as 2" front, 2" rear and ended up getting 1.5" in the front. I still have the factory rake. Based on my experience if you used their 2" lift on the front only, it would level your vehicle out.

What I would do is hit up Toytec and see what they say. They'll know more about the application than us internet warriors.

OK, this is the last I can possibly add to this. If you do some googling, you will read that if you go 2" up front, you will have reverse frame rake. This has been posted so many times on many Toyota forums. Those who go a full 2" up front have reverse rake. Their fenders may look level but their frame has reverse rake. That is with a unloaded rear also, so just think about when your rear is full of stuff, it just looks silly.

I have a friend who did this, Bilsteins set at 1.75 which gave him about 2". He thought it looked cool for a short period of time then added a 1" rear spacer to actually give a little normal fender rake back, which should be your goal. When I was leveling my 4Runner, he told me to go with Bilsteins set at .85, which gave me about 1" front lift. My 4Runner has slight fender rake, which is what it should look like, and my frame is level.

I also did a ton of research and EVERYONE said that if you go:

1" front, you don't need a rear spacer.

If You go 2" front, you need 1" rear spacer.

If you go over 2" front, you need at least 1.5" rear spacer.

I see so many Tacoma's and 4Runners driving around with the front end higher that the rear. It just looks flat out ridiculous, don't be that guy.

thanks for the input... I was mostly looking to clear the 285/70/17 tires that I got for the wife. and I was told to go 2" that's why I been asking a lot about it.
