Shopping for 6.5’ x 8.5’awnings and came across Ironman’s quick connect/disconnect brackets. I like the apparent ease of on/off/relocation they provide. Considering them regardless of which awning I go with.

Any first hand insight / experience with these brackets- or any others you think are as easy to work with- would be appreciated.

I have the same size Ironman awning. The quick connect/disconnect brackets are a must have option for me. The awning is on and off the vehicle in seconds and I can lock it on there with a couple of pad locks. A little pricey but they work great with the awning.

Thanks for the response. Precisely the reasons I’m considering their brackets though not thrilled with the green monster thing on the cover so considering other awnings but using IM brackets.

I have a standard Victory rack and realize there are many flavors of racks that differ- but what rack do you have and how did you attach brackets to it? Just looking for ideas.

Yeah, I could have lived without the green monster, but it’s a good awning. I have the Artec rack/crossbars. I just bolted the L brackets to the crossbars and then secured the quick connect brackets to them. And reattached this Artec side rail over the top of the L brackets. It’s very secure. (Don’t mind the rusty bolts, they didn’t come with the rack. I had to use slightly longer ones, will Replace them this weekend with Zinc plated)

    Thanks. That is really helpful.

it’s funny that mounting correctly for easy on / easy off, will be almost as much as the price of the awning :spending:

    Here we go….

Ikr! The quick release brackets alone are almost half the cost of the awning. I don’t understand that price. Good luck! post up whenever you get it done.

Using the front runners quick brackets for my Arb 2500 (8’)...big improvement over the homemade L brackets I used for years...quick on and off and came with a set of wall brackets for the shop...very happy with the system...

Thought I’d close the loop on this thread. I ended up using Victory’s awning mount(s) coupled with the Ironman quick release brackets. Pricey but perfect combo for easy on/ easy off. I figure the easier it is to use and store, the more I’ll use it.

If you want to secure it with a lock while it’s on the vehicle, you’ll need a lock w a 2” smallish diameter shank.

Edit: We went with Roam’s 6.5 x 8.5 awning. Great size for our needs.

Using Prinsu quick release mounts on my Prinsu rack. 8.5x8.5 Roam awning. I have zero complaints.

Mainly got the quick releases to make installing the RTT easier. Twist and push out, repeat 3 more times, lift up and towards myself and it’s off.

    I would definitely recommend them.
