Been with Farmers for decades, no claims since 2012. Tired of rising rates. Travelers offers discounts through my credit union, but I don't know anything about the company, looking for feedback.

I've heard that Farmers kinda sucks. No idea about Traveler's. I have Progressive, so far so good. But, no claims. No rising rates, but I started with them after an OWI, so they were inflated for a few years to begin with.

I’ve had travelers at one point, nothing negative to say, other than I am not with them any more because I found cheaper. Unfortunately, to be treated fair you have to shop every year or so. I was once quoted a cheaper rate with the company I already had, then they gave me some lame excuse why I wasn’t already getting that rate.

I had Travelers for 5-6 years until about a month ago and was happy with them. I bundled home and auto. I had one $3000 claim with them in that time for my Tundra, which was my fault and they did raise my rates from $110 to $155 a month when they found out my wife had two speeding tickets she was hiding from them (and me). We just moved to a different state and unfortunately Travelers is a bit more expensive in Arizona than in Idaho so I’ve gone with a different company. Overall I recommend Travelers, though.

I had Travelers for renter's insurance as recently as 2021, until we moved and bought our house.

I thought their rates were reasonable.

I had a garage fire claim in 2019. Fusebox caught fire in the middle of the night and the fire consumed one wall of the garage before our dog's barking alerted us. Fire damage to structure was not on them as we rented; but the fire and smoke damage to the contents was on them. They covered the contents fairly and paid out what I thought was an acceptable amount. Claims guy was easy to work with and kept in touch with us. Claim was paid pretty quickly, maybe 3 weeks +/-. I was satisfied, for sure.

I currently use them for homeowners (they are also sold through Geico, so if you use Geico for renters or homeowners you are actually getting Travelers) and I've had no claims but I am confident they would handle them fairly.

Have them for two vehicles and house. My BMW was stuck in a parking lot, hit and run, and they took care of it with no issues. The adjuster was awesome because he said they would use only OEM parts even though the clause says they didn’t have to. This was because the headlight cheaper replacement didn’t have BMW written on it like the original. So the paid out for OEM at over twice the price.

I had them from 1992-1996 when I was stationed in Montana. No issues with them at all back then.

Update - got a quote from Travelers today, and changed over to them. Over $800 per year less for home and auto with the same coverage.
