I just bought a '06 SR5 which came with a Weathertech rear cargo liner. The liner sits sort of goofy on top of the floor with the folding shelf unit down flat, and it doesn't fit at all if I raise the shelf like my daughter wants (it's her truck). I know I could trim the front portion of the liner where it sits behind the rear seat, but I hate to do that and loose the "tub" capability.

Have any of you experienced this issue or seen any other members discuss and deal with it? If so, what kinds of solutions have you seen applied?

Thanks ahead of time for any and all input.

Understood. That's what the people we bought it from were doing as well.

In all honesty, though, I'm not sure just how much value my daughter is going to have for the liner, but we will be finding out as she takes possession and makes it hers. I prefer to keep it in place for protection. For the short term, I've just removed the liner because the spare tool bag she will carry sits very nicely underneath the shelf, completely out of sight, and she still has the flat surface area for storage. She also really doesn't hardly need the rear cargo area for much of anything. She only chose the 4R because of its inherently elevated ride height. She spent almost all of her life in either my F250 CC diesel or the Excursion diesel we just recently got rid of, so she's used to sitting up above the cars and really did not want to be riding or driving "down there".

I got a solution to the issue. I purchased a used retractable tonneau cover, put it in place, dropped the shelf, and placed the liner back in position over the shelf. Everything remains hidden, liner is in its protective position, and the liner containment capability remains uncompromised.
