I was wondering if anyone made an externally accessible tool cubby to replace the fixed side rear glass on the driver's side. Meaning, a metal container that is about as deep as the interior plastic trim but lockable from the outside.

Yes I have seen the metal molle inside and out options from Rago Fabrications and such.

If not I'd be interested. The glass serves no purpose and I could use it for storage on things such as my tire pressure gauge and hose, jumper cables, etc.

Like the first picture but made to fit the second picture's window's shape.

Same product, different vendor; as Emmantik posted.

Apologies for the late reply. That's very similar to what I'm going for though the video of it makes me nervous trusting it with inclement weather or wind noise. Anyone have one installed?

That's incredibly expensive for what you get in my opinion. I could take my time and fabricate my own for less than that I believe. Hmm.. Maybe weld it to the back side and slope the bottom of the box and have a nipple for a rubber hose to drain water out the inside of the rear quarter panel...

Well, if you’ve got the skills and the time you’ll naturally be happier with something designed to precisely meet your needs.

Seems like a lot of trouble and expense for very little gain.

It’s mostly for show. A set of drawers would be more beneficial.
