Still happy with these tires? I'm looking for a wheel and tire pkg for the wife's 2020 4R. I'm looking at the 275/70/17. Fl here as well...Tampa area so wet traction control is a must.

I’m very happy with them. Even though they are stock size and SL rated, I took a slight hit in mpg (.5 - 1 mpg). That was a little surprising but an easy trade off for a pretty big increase in performance. I can definitely tell the difference between the stock tires and the AT3’s via stiffer handling, very slight increase in road noise and certainly better traction all around. Biggest gain was wet weather handling and that by itself was worth the price of admission.

Nice. Yeah the mpg hit comes from the tires being heavier. The stock Dunlops are 39 lbs and the Toyos are 51 lbs.

If you are concerned about wet traction, and not off-roading, do not buy these tires in that size. They are only available in load range E, which means they will be heavier and ride quality and fuel economy will suffer. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the load range E has less siping than the SL, which will reduce wet traction.

I believe this is correct. The SL has more siping and a different silica content which aids in wet weather.

Ok I see it....the SL is on the 265/70/17. The reason I was thinking the 275 is because we want to lift it eventually. Actually the tires are so close in size that you can lift it with either size and it would look fine. This one has a 3/2 on a 275/70.

If you want a larger tire for lift purposes, look at the 255/75-17 AT3. It’s a load C and a good bit lighter than the load E. I believe the 255/75 and the 275/70 are roughly the same diameter.
