Went to Texas Toyota Jamboree last weekend. Drove 5 hours there, wheeled, drove to Canton and back to Gilmer, wheeled some more, drove 5 hours back home. Gotta LOVE Toyota reliability!! Barnwell will either leave your rig a dusty mess or a muddy mess. Either way, it's red dirt and sticks to everything.

Swapped out steering wheel for one from a 2003 Toyota Matrix. I like the thickness of it better than the stock wheel. I'll put the stock wheel back if/when I ever sell it. The new wheels' horn doesn't work and now the auto-off for the turn signals doesn't work either when turning. Not sure if I can fix either issue yet.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
It's not a 4Runner, it's a first gen Hilux, but I spent yesterday "summerizing" it. Being a RWD only, it does very poorly around here in winter, so we fill the tank, add some Sta-Bil, and pull the negative off the battery. Put a sun shade up, make sure the doors and windows are nice and snug, and he ready for his hibernation.

Yesterday, after letting the battery charge over night, I hooked it back up, checked the belts and hoses, filled up the oil, coolant, and clutch system, aaaaaaaaand fired him right up! Took a bit of cranking to fill the carb up with gas, but that's normal. That's why I charge up the battery.

Ready to run for the summer, now. I prefer to use it instead of the 4Runner, given a 21 MPG vice a 18 MPG.

    Have a good summer, all!

I went off-roading around Grand Lake in Disney, OK. They've got a nice swimming hole below "Little Blue". This spot is mostly for ATV's on the West side and regular cars on the East side. 4Runners can go from side to side

this week i found some time to replace the tail lights , turn signals , marker lights , bumper ends and bumper face . they all fit pretty good , tail lights do not come with a gasket between light and body65BA6AE7-B604-4616-93D5-1D44D9CFA2CC.jpg 8FBF8453-9C76-4FE0-85AB-60CEAF0EF22A.jpg 7BFDCCE2-ACBC-4BA6-9A14-2BE71646482C.jpg CAA3FC7E-53B1-4846-917E-07EC92B34FFB.jpg ( i think there was one at some time ) and top holes on bumper were too small for factory carriage bolts . found some stainless ones at local hardware store that fit perfect . while i was at it went ahead and did the 2001 with new lights up front.

I got a new set of shoes for my girl. Interco TSL/Thornbird's 35x12.5R15. I've also got something in mind for wheels, but that will take a few more weeks.

I just crossed the 200,000 mile threshold. On another note, these Thornbirds either ride rough at high psi or wander at low psi. Not the best street tires LOL. Also with the weather cooling off it may be time for me to put the doors back on.
