    Hey everyone,

I have been doing lots of reading on what tires and wheels combos would fit a stock suspension TRD OR.

I don't want to do any BMC or cutting , since this is going to be on a new vehicle.

Anyways, for wheels/tires I was looking at
KMC Trek 17x8 with +20mm offset with either 275 or 285s Falken wildpeaks at3s.

Question is, do I need a lift for the 285s?
And if I do the 275s, will they fit ok with that offset?

And if so, would the eibach stage 1 kit provide enough clearance.

I really don't want to get into any cutting.

I'm new to offsets and spacers and all of this so any help is really appreciated

    Wheels - tires - lifts always give different results. Below is just my experience;

(My close friend who wheel together - SR5) - Readylift spacer lift 3in front + 2in rear running BFG KO2 285/70R17 on SR5 wheels gave slight rubbing and after few trips the rubbing went away, did not do any cutting.

(Me - TRD ORP) - OME suspension lift 2.5in front + 2in rear running BFG KO2 285/70R17 on TRD Offroad wheels required minor plastic trimming with rubbing, no mud flap removal. Only visible is one look closely.

(Me - Limited) - Ironman suspension lift 2¼ front 1.5 rear running Falken Wildpeak 285/70R17 on TRD Offroad wheels required minor trimming with rubbing, no mud flap removal. Impossible to tell its trimmed.

If you don't want to lift, why go up in tire size.. just the difference between highway tire and AT tire on stock size is good looking.. I am running stock size Toyo at3, and I honestly don't see how going "bigger" without lifting would fit there without issues..

This is totally an option, which is why I asked about the 275s because they're only slightly bigger than the 265s. I have read that there won't be any issues. However saying that if I ever do decide to get a lift the 275s would look a little small I think.

Thanks for the info, I actually looked at doing the readylift spacers. Did your friend find that the ride quality got stiffer?

I had Readylift on my SR5 as well, Only difference is my friend got 285s vs I had 265 KO2s. Ride quality did not change, almost had the stock nice soft feeling (softer than Bilstien5100 I had on my Limited before). However rear shocks top out on trails or if I go over a speed bump fast.

One more question, what size wheels do you have and what's the offset? Wondering what the max offset wheels can be with 265s or 275s

My buddy use factory SR5 wheels on his SR5.

I use factory TRD Offroad wheels on my TRD ORP and also on my Limited.

I'm not sure about offset recommendation, All I know is tire manufacturers do not recommend 285s on SR5 & TRD Pro wheels since 285s have minimum width requirement of 7.5 inches. This is why I use TRD Offroad wheels on both my TRD ORP and Limited to run 285/70R17 tires. For 265/275 I don't see a problem running any factory wheel.

You don't need a lift for either of those tires. Your wheel offset and alignment will determine if they rub.

A positive offset is good for this, but there's a slight chance you could end up rubbing on suspension components. -20 is fairly close to stock off-road offset, so you might be fine.

Chances are that if you do rub, it's going to be on the mud flap, or the bumper cover. The inner fender liner and mud flaps can be trimmed or reshaped with a heat gun in order to clear. No guarantees about the body mount, though.

As @Math1840 mentioned, a good looking all terrain in the stock size will improve the looks dramatically, if you don't want to go bigger.

Lifting doesn't actually clear tires. It might help for street driving, but not if you flex the suspension.
