I recently purchased a used 2013 4Runner Limited with leaking front struts. I decided to replace the X-REAS shock and struts with standard Monroe OESpectrum shocks and struts. After replacing the shocks and struts the highway ride if very good but going over curbs and speed bumps seems exceptionally loose. I considered putting the OEM springs on the Monroe struts to see if that might improve things and upon removal of the OEM springs from the old X-REAS struts I found that they are different. One is a heavier spring and the other has more coils to it. Does anybody know if this is normal or if this was assembled incorrectly from the factory? I have all the service records for the vehicle and the X-REAS suspension had never been serviced according to Toyota. Please see attached photo of OEM strut springs.
