I'm asking for member opinions. I currently have the SEMA TRD wheels in glossy gun metal on a silver 4Runner SR5. I'm debating on switching over to the 40th anniversary bronze wheels with the wheel cap reading "TOYOTA". I'm having a hard time with the debate. Do you guys think the new 40th anniversary bronze wheels will look good on a silver 4Runner SR5? Thanks in advance.

Here's a silver 4runner with bronze wheels from a Google image search. I think it will look fine.

I actually really like bronze wheels. I might get a set, eventually.

Those polished wheels look fk’n great, I love that look!

To the OP, I have bronze RRW wheels on my white runner and they look really good, although it’s quite a dark bronze. That being said, I think bronze wheels give a bit of color without looking too flashy.

As to your question, I think bronze TRD would look sharp although in my opinion, I prefer the originals over the 40th aniv. wheels. If it were me, I get the OG’s and then put the Toyota center caps on them as I think they look better than the TRD caps.

I like the gun metal. It matches the Silver better. IMO

I think it will give you some contrast. I have black on my Nautical Blue SR5 Premium (but a put some blue valve stem caps on it!).

BTW: Warning!! I/we live in snow country and about 4 months of the year, we have freezes. Sometimes, it won't get above freezing for a week or two. My tire guy saw I had some "fancy" stem covers made of metal. He recommended that I remove them and replace them with plastic. Seems the metal ones can freeze to the stem and break it off if you try to remove them while frozen. Just a word to the wise (The thought just hit me!)

I love bronze wheels, but they just don’t do anything for me on silver. Agreed with the gunmetal. It a dark contrast and looks better than the bronze.

for the record, I have blue powder coated wheels on my silver IS.

My silver is a bit darker/dirtier than the 4Runner silver.

I actually REALLY like this look. Maybe try to match the Toyota emblems on the grill and hatch to all tie in together.

I like the contrast of the bronze as compared to the gunmetal. It doesn't look bad, it just doesn't pop. But I run stock silver alloys on silver, which is even less contrast haha.

I am NOT random! At most I’m semi-random.

I’m not a fan of bronze wheels per se, but I think they work best on black and nautical blue 4Runners.

I had the bronze TRD wheels on my Army green Tacoma. I loved them. I’m thinking about a set of the Replica trail wheel in 17” but with factory “Toyota” lettering OEM centre caps on my Barcelona red ORP.

YES! I frequently see an AG Tacoma with bronze wheels and it looks fantastic.

IMHO the current wheels look better than the bronze ones. I’m also not a fan of the new wheel style — seems overwrought to me, like overdoing the attempt to be different or better. Aesthetically I think Toyota hit the nail on the head with the prior style. I also don’t think bronze is the best match for silver. I really like the current look. FWIW.

I made a decision and will be sticking with the SEMA TRD wheels in glossy gun metal that is currently on the 4Runner. It looks good, it's already on the 4Runner, and I don't have to spend more money. Thanks everyone for their opinion.

I have a silver 4R just like yours OP and recently got the 40th anniversary rims. The bronze color is darker than the old style and that’s what made me pulled the trigger when I saw them. Is going to look great with the contrast as well. However, I do like the old style gloss TRD pro.

I do not, but I can provide you with some pictures of the rims when I get home. B/c they were so hard to get, I got new tires for my current rims so my plans now are to installed them for next summer.

I agree about the bronze looking good with darker colors, especially black.

Good choice. I love the current wheels you have. I wanted those but needed running boards. If did not need them for my Dad I would have exactly what you have.

somehow my alum accent running board would not look good with that awesome wheel.

I think silver looks best with black wheels and tinted windows. If I had silver (or white) I would go with SCS wheels in their stealth blue color. Love that combo. I really like the TRD wheels, but man they are on so many 4Runners where I live!

See you've already made a decision. I have a silver TRD Off Road 4Runner and went with black TRD wheels. IMHO black is better with silver. Totally personal preference.

I agree with most in here that bronze is not the best color for silver. IMO.
