I found a 2005 SR5 4x4 V8 with 205k miles. Original owner, paint isnt great but interior looks good. Frame is good, been a southwest truck its whole life. Seems like a decent price at $8,000? Kinda sounds like a good platform for a fun build!?

What do you guys think? I currently have the 2005 v6 but the v8 is the more desirable motor from what i read!?

I absolutely loved my 06 V8 4x4 SR5. One thing to note is that the 4.7 v8 is an interference motor so if it hasn't had a timing belt and water pump replacement, get that done ASAP.

Mine also ate brakes like they were candy. Got to the point where I could replace rotors and pads in the front in under 90 minutes.

Other than that, it was one of the most reliable vehicles I ever owned. Airbags worked perfectly when it met a tree head on at 164k at 12 years old.
