Does anybody have a front mount hitch on their 5th gen SR5 or TRD Off Road / Pro? I am looking to haul around bikes when going camping and don't really want to put a hitch on the back of my camper.

I’m looking into getting one my self for surf fishing. What I have found is the Draw Tight brand...I believe it is...hugs the bumper better than the Curt. The Curt looks as if it is more for the Limited with the lower front bumper. I don’t want to lose any ground clearance personally. Those are the only to options I have seen.

    I'll revive this ancient thread.

We need a front hitch for a 2022 TRD ORP. I recently wrote Draw-Tite regarding their Model 65074. They replied:

Why not? Isn't that part of the job? The 2022s have been out for months now.

Guess I'll have to crawl under the front to see for myself whether the bolts are in the right places.

    Does anyone have this information?

Just did the install using the Curt C31076 Custom 2” Fit front hitch on my 22 TRD Pro. Its an install that I needed an extra person for as its very tight to slide the hitch above the stock rings.

It looks like it wont fit because of the crash bar winglets but it does. No cutting required.

The TRD skid plate is so close to fitting. The Curt hitch will need to be notched in order to get the TRD skid and hitch to work together. Ill get this worked on next week.

Wow! I'd given up on this. Thanks for the heads-up. I look forward to news of the skid plate. Thanks!

Im surprised there arent TRD Pro front hitch installs on Youtube. They are popular for folks in the OuterBanks, NC. Regardless, my friend is a welder so he’ll see what he can do to make it fit correctly and Ill post pix.

Woops! I must have read too fast: I missed your mention of the TRD Pro. We have a '22 TRD ORP, which also has a (possibly different) skid plate. I hope/assume the rest of the geometry is similar.

For a split second, I thought the OEM skid plate would clear the front hitch. If the hitch was lowered less than an inch or moved forward a few millimeters, it’d be gtg. Curt should modify their bracket for this. Itd be simple. Plenty of clearance for the beach still.

Did you trim the skid plate or were you able to just overlap the hitch?

I wonder if a few washers would work?

I didnt trim the skid plate. I probably wont because I think the modification to the hitch would be easier but you have me thinking that I should circle back to mounting it. It was pretty close.

I've been meaning to do a little write up on this but haven't really had the time. I put on the Curt front hitch C31076 in an attempt to be able to take bikes on our camping trips since I need the room up in the cargo rack for other things and there's nowhere else to put them with the pop up attached.

The fit of the hitch is perfect despite Curt not getting around to verifying fitment yet for 2022 SR5's.

I did need to put on a skid plate with an oil door since the hitch covers the front factory skid plate bolts. I had already bought one from Talon's Garage since I also bought their cat protection and it fits perfectly with the hitch.

Unfortunately, all the bike racks that I have sit too high and I wasn't comfortable with the restrictions on my view while driving. I am going to try a tray design and see how that works.

    Great news! Thanks.

Is this the skid plate you bought? "Toyota 4Runner | Engine Skid Plate | 1/4" 5052 Aluminum | 2010-2022" (www.talonsgarage.com/product-page/2010-2022-4-runner-front-skid-plate)

That is the skid I bought, but I'm fairly certain any skid plate with an oil door will work. If I remember correctly, the issue with the factory skid plate was that you have to remove the front trim plate (now under the hitch) to get the factory skid off to change the oil. The Talon plate sits behind the hitch and I left the trim under the hitch.

Anybody know if the curt or the draw tight will work with a tso incog bumper and trd skid plate? I wanna put a hitch on the front for a cargo carrier for a cooler and i thought about just welding a receiver with to thw bumper but id like to avoid that if i canScreenshot_20240227_012119_Amazon Shopping.jpg

I'd often thought about welding a receiver to the steel bumper I have in the garage waiting for install
