Pricing seems little unfair. I wonder checking with few dealerships around would help? I guess with inflation every thing has got expensive..:(

I'm very curious how they would be able to delete the whole system for $2,000. Unless, that would mean you would be driving around without any sway bars, which I would not recommend.

How long was the boot cracked before the ram started leaking?

    Also what year and mileage?

    Regarding deleting KDSS:
Are there electronics associated with it? If you removed, would you get a dash light? I don't have KDSS on my 4Runner but I think the KDSS on my LC is purely mechanical and doesn't report to the computer on board.

Also, regarding swaybars, I bet Toyota frames have provision for bolting a traditional swaybar in; as I doubt they made a different frame for KDSS vs non-KDSS.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
This is for the entire frame assembly. I would bet the frame itself is the same, just some of the parts that bolt on would be different to accommodate KDSS.

The brackets for the sway bars are welded on. We confirmed this awhile back on another thread.

I was convinced the frames would be identical, but it wasn't the case.

One would have to grind off the KDSS sway bar brackets and weld on the standard sway bar brackets, or vise versa, if they wanted to switch.

    Thank you, good to know.
I do metal fab in retirement so it would be possible for me. Making two driveway gates at the present time.
I love the KDSS and we put limited miles on our vehicles in the high desert environment so there probably would be no need for me to change anything.
