06 toyo 4runner 3.0

I was wanting ask if anyone if when replacing bcm,and rear electric latch does the bcm have to be reflashed everything works but the hatch release. So I took the hatch release off make sure it works and it does I'm thinking it's not communicating with the ecu any comments appreciated.
