Problem moving from reverse to drive

hello everyone! I'm currently new to this site. I own a 2008 4Runner, in may will be a year since I bought it. I have been wanting one for quite some time. I used to have a Acura TL and was in a car accident which then I was able to go get my 4Runner. I have 2 Bernese mountain dogs and they absolutely love it. But unfortunately I have had a few issues and seems like it may have a transmission issue. A lot of the time when I put it in reverse and put it back into drive it will not move for a few seconds and then it has a pretty hard jump before it will start moving again. Anybody else have had an issue like this?

just a thought, have you checked the fluid level?

 

Well I did do a transmission fluid flush on it about 2 months ago, I guess the transmission fluid was pretty bad. But it has not helped.

 

I had that on rare occasions with my taco, I usually attributed it to shifting into drive from reverse while still moving back just barely, basically rushing it. otherwise I'm not really sure, hopefully someone will pop in that might have a better idea

 

Who did the transmission service?

 

Check the fluid anyways even though it was serviced

 

Sealed transmission without a dipstick, if I am not mistake the 4runner has to be warmed up prior to checking at the fill plug. I would need to do more reading to make sure.
