What’s your 4Runner’s name?

My family got a tradition of naming our cars, usually my kids will name them. This time my wife named our truck Aniki. It means Big Brother in Japanese.

It's a Toyota in the Northeast, so naturally it's "Rusty" lol.

 

Disaster, because shortly after signing what I had to go through with the vehicle and dealer was a disaster.

Tried to get FN2187 on a custom plate but it was rejected through the online process as "potentially offensive". I think if I go in and talk to/show them why i want it then it will pass. My guess is that it was too close to "FN247". Other than FN, I can't figure out why it would be rejected. And yes, the force is strong with this nerd

My green FJ40 was the "Mud Sloth"



Wife's RAV4 is "Mama's Mini Land Cruiser" (She prefers just "The RAV")

 

Shes Pearl White so her name is Princess.

After mods now she looks like she does crossfit

@BearBio man that FJ looks amazing. How long have you had it?

 

I had it for six months=It was a '69. Did a lot of work to get it running, then found out I couldn't drive it due to a gimpy knee (clutch issues) and a bad arm (no power steering). Had engine gone over, new wheels and tires (OEM), rebuilt hubs, and had to sell it at a loss. It was my second and I LOVE them! Broke my heart. The wife gave me her 4Runner to replace it and we got her a RAV. 4Runner & RAV were bought cash when we retired so we wouldn't have any big bills. I love the 4Runner but really miss the FJ!

As a retired Wildlife Biologist, I chose "Mud Sloth" because 1) FJ's are so slow; 2) Sloths are the only mammal with naturally green fur (a species of algae found only in sloth fur).

Goldie…..haven’t come up with a name for the new kid yet….maybe ‘Tank’ since it weighs almost 1K# more than Goldie.

@Mikemd I call it truck as well. @Tmiesowicz is from New York and they think they have all the answers and think others should care what they think.

 

One time the cops asked for my “street” name. I spelled out my address.
