So last summer I swamped my 2nd gen up to the handles,
took in lots of water and shot a rod out of the block.
Since, I have purchased a 3vze with 160k miles and swapped it out.
I also switched all the parts from my once running engine over to the new one.
P.S pump , alternator , water pump ect
Everything seems to be connected properly

But now I have no spark.
I have used my volt reader to see if I have voltage out of the coil and there is nothing
One thing I have noticed is that the CEL is on when I switch ignition to ACC but turns off soon as I start cranking. If I remember correctly, the CEL use to stay on while cranking until the truck started but I am not 100% sure.
Maybe this is an indicator to the problem I'm having ??
There is also a ground wire I was unsure about on the passenger side, so I bolted it to the engine. Maybe in the wrong place, but would it cause no voltage coming from the ignition system..?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Is this OBD1 or OBD2?

Have you tried pulling codes to see if the computer\ECU is alive?

If the ECU is dead or can not determine the engine timing, it won't energize the coils to make spark. So bad cam\crank sensors could be an issue.
