Question.. when I bought this 4R it had baked on fender flare rock guards (assume from hot sun), So I heated up and removed with a blow dryer and a plastic scraper. Unfortunately it removed some paint . I ordered some matched paint. My question is ..after sanding the area , do I need to spray a primer before painting the fender flare? or just paint?
    Thanks for any help.

Optimally you would sand the rest of that paint off, then prime, paint, clear. That'll get you the smoothest looking application.

So I want to sand the whole area then ? making it larger, perhaps a large oval shape? .. or do I want to go deeper still beyond the grey layer you can see? Thanks for you help

Dont go deeper into the plastic, just make sure to get rid of any of any of the paint in the area where youre painting. In past experiece with spray paint on plastic, any left over factory paint will leave a ridge that can be seen.

Okay, thanks .. so it is safe to say I should expand the area between the areas where there is no paint, and make one large smooth area ? I am thinking I may just sand the entire area because there is still sticky residue where the rock guard was. thanks again . going to also try and watch some you tube videos.

I have a small sample of factory touch up paint for my metallic silver 2016 4Runner Limited. I have a few very miniscule dings, I would like to touch up. Any recommendations on prep?
