I'm sorry for all of the nube questions but I think I am getting close to making a decision. I am probably going to go with the MetalTech Sliders. I asked them if they could tell me how deep they are as steps for the front doors on the 2016 Limited. He replied to my question that he doesn't know exactly how deep the step is. Does anyone have these on their Limited Runner that could do a quick check of this and let me know?

I'm leaning to the MetalTech over all of the others because according to them I should be able to install these with out removing any parts of the door trim etc. and they are bolt on that me and a couple of friends can complete in my driveway.

I'm also still trying to decide if I get the powder coat from them or if I just order them as bare metal and have them sprayed with that bed liner stuff, like LineX or something. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks again for all of your help!

Those look really good but I don't think they make one that will fit the 2016 limited without body modifications. Removing the lower rocker panel. I'm really not comfortable removing parts like that from a brand new truck. The MetalTech OPOR say that they can mount up without removing any trim. I like that, however I did hear back from John Love at MetalTech and he was not able to tell me how deep the step is for the front doors when these are mounted on a Limited. I also asked about possibly modifying them to be a bit deeper and putting full top plate on them. He responded that they are not able to do any modifications to make them deeper. And they no longer offer a full top plate option. The only option offered is bare metal or powder coated.

I wish the shrockworks would bolt on to the limited without removing the rocker panel that would make this an easy decision.

I really do not see myself doing much off-road (on purpose) I want these to help protect my truck incase I run over some stuff as well as provide a step for my wife.

MetalTech is looking like my only option aside from doing the ugly stock running boards from Toyota. Those offer a step but no real protection. UGH! I'm so frustrated!

Has anyone used the Shrockworks Trail rocker trim on their Limited Runners? do you have any before and after shots with the doors open? Just wondering if it looks like an after thought or if it really looks professional.

Ok I hate to keep pestering you all with my questions but I'm sure some day I will find exactly what I need. (then I'm sure I'll want to change something else and have more questions.) :)

I emailed Demello-Offroad to see about their hybrid sliders and see what is needed to mount these on a 2016 4Runner Limited 4x4 and I received a reply from "Daniel" at Demello-Offroad.com and he stated "The '10-'13 needed the balances cut. On your 2016 you will not need to do that."

Has anyone tried the Demello hybrid on a newer limited? I'd love to see pics. I asked him if he has any pics he can send. still waiting on those. If these will mount up with out modification this may be a great choice for me and many others who do not want to cut up their brand new trucks!

Thanks again for all the help. I hope I am not bothering you all to much.

I had Demello round tube sliders on my 2013 FJ. They were great and took a beating, but didn't really stick out far enough to be a good step on the FJ.

I just sent an email to Shrockworks for more info on their Trail Edition trim. I wish I could find someone using this on a 2016 Limited to see how it really looks. I'm concerned about the ends that they may look unfinished. If it looks good and like it was not an after thought to rig it up then maybe this would be an option for me.

If you know of anyone using these on a Limited I'd love to see the finished product.

I just ordered the Shrockworks with the full tread plates, and the TE trim that they sell. Hoping it all looks good on the truck. I have read so many good things about the Shrockworks products I think it will be good.

Curious why no one has mentioned Slee Off-road yet? Christo makes 4Runner sliders too.

I looked at slee online I just liked the look of the others with the round edges and bars. The slee's are very square and look to have sharp corners and edges.

Went with the Metaltech OPOR sliders for my 2016 Limited. Went around the XREAS lines. IMG_3717.jpg IMG_3716.jpg No trimming required.
