    Hello all!

2021 TRD Off Road from North Georgia (Cartersville to be specific).

This is our 3rd 4Runner. Our first was a 1997 SR5 2WD (R.I.P). The second was a 2001 Limited 4WD, which at the 250k mile mark, was passed down to my son. Now the 2021 is our third.

We are at 15k miles. Today, I took it in for its 15k service. The maintenance items include lubricating the propeller shaft, and re-torqueing the propeller shaft bolts. I am a shade tree mechanic, at best; and I thought it prudent to go to the dealer for service; at least while under warranty. Went in today, and told the service advisor that we do off road with it, and we have recently forded rivers, so I though it very important that the propeller shaft maintenance items be tended to. I then mentioned that the jeep guys we were on a trail with actually pulled over after fording the rivers, and pumped grease into their zerk fittings before going any further.
The service advisor tells me that I don't have zerk fittings, that all of that is factory sealed!

Now after a good bit if reading, I am coming to the conclusion that this is utter BS! I haven't crawled under mine yet, but I'm pretty sure when I do, I'm going to find zerk fittings.

So...keeping the 'warranty' safe doesn't do me a lot of good if the dealership isn't going to do the work anyway...so...here I am! :)

Now that I am committed to doing as much of my own maintenance and repairs as possible, I needed a community resource.

    So, here we go!

    CommanderDave

I suspected as much. Not real sure why a service advisor would tell me otherwise. Whatever the reason, I don't think I need to expose myself to that again.

Yeah hence why I don’t take my vehicle to the service center. They can give two rats about your vehicle. I figured I care more than they do and I will watch everything better than they will. I would only bring it to them to perform repairs on stuff that broke that is under warranty.

LOL!!! Yeah, I need to get that remedied. It's dirty right now, from the last trail run. Ah, what the hay! Dirt tells the story of where it's been.

I'll have this corrected in a few minutes! :)

    Fantastic!

If you don't mind my asking, where did you get the graphic. Did it come from a FSM, and is so, where did you get it?

That would be awesome! We have been exploring the trails in north GA. We already have some favorites in the Blue Ridge area...about 1 -1 1/2 hours north of Woodstock.
