I dumped my 2020 4R ORP and picked up this '04 LC for $10k. I like it a lot better. The v8 has lots of torque, it doesn't feel top heavy like the 4Runner... actually it is much better in the curves... and it's very capable off pavement and in snow/mud/etc. Overall a much better vehicle for my needs and much less to worry about if it picks up a scratch or ding anywhere. As for its size compared to 4Runner, it is 2" longer than the 4R in both length and wheelbase, it is a half inch wider, and its turning radius is 39.7' compared to the 4R's 37.4'. All the fun at 1/4 the price of admission. Lately, I've been driving it back and forth between Tennessee and Florida every few weeks and it gets about 15mpg hwy. I was only getting 17.5-18mpg in the 4R.

I recently ran into a guy who has a 2018 LHD 70s series Cruiser, gas engine, and in great shape that he was selling. IIRC, it was low miles with an Arizona title. There was one small problem...he wanted $125,000 for it. I'm sure he could probably get more than that if he put it in Barret Jackson.

I agree with you people think it’s way bigger but it not really much at all and it drives smoother and with much more power!

    Hey All,
I have had 3 Landcruisers, 1982 BJ42,Red 1982 BJ60,Red and a 1987 BJ74 in grey. Loved all of them and regret selling them. Had a great trip in the BJ42 (pictured) from Calgary to Fairbanks with my Son. Most capable 4X4s ever IMHO. I loved the solid front axles as they were bulletproof but took some getting used to. Diesel, nice. Us in the lower 48, didn't get that option. 1983 was the last year model that we got imported from Japan. And those came with factory P/S and A/C.
    I've also had 3 TLC's. My old girl was a '73 FJ-40. I had a basket case '75 that I bought from a friend and I removed the 4-speed to install in the '73.
    And a '63 FJ-45, SWB-SB, with a non-removable hard top.

Absolutely love my 100 series. I came from several 4runners and a 3rd gen Tacoma. The LX470 is by far my favorite on and off road.

Nice to hear from other TLC owners who appreciated what they had or have. Had some great adventures with them and will always have a soft spot for all things TLC. Just wish I could afford another one:). Really enjoying my 4Runner though!
