    Picked up the 22 ORP on Friday. My 18 mid-travel Tundra is behind it. Learned a ton setting it up and can't wait to go BIG with the next build

    RCLT HD ordered before I took delivery.
    3 front axles ordered with the RCV 25% group buy on Tundras forum a few weeks ago too.

    Still need to figure out:
    King's or ORI's
    Wheel/tire package
    Gears
    Front locker (Probably ARB)
    Protection
    Rear end
    What I'll have to chop

    Tinted the visor and front windows today.

    Peaked my head underneath and confirmed the "predator steps" are just tough looking and are not actual sliders. They'll be off the t4r and on marketplace while they are still in good shape. Looking at skids and sliders, I'll pull the trigger on some soon

    Nice 4Runner. While not real sliders, those aren't Predator steps either. Those are the oem 'slider steps'...

    You're right. I looked at a ton of them before getting this one, must of have been confused. They call it the Trail Rail, I knew it was something silly. Still not recommended for the trails I see

    No doubt. Do you like the RSG's? I have SDHQ's on my tundra and want something with top plates and a bit more sturdy.

    Love 'em. Mine have the grip top plate. My wife uses them all the time for entry, and they allow me to access stuff on the roof.

    Update, I've been a busy beaver and haven't posted any of it!

    Here's what I've done since the last update:
    1. Blend mount and mirror tap for the V1 gen2
    2. Shrockworks sliders
    3. Rival skids
    4. CBI - baja hidden winch bumper
    5. Smittybuilt 20x 10k winch
    6. On -Board Air
    A. ARB dual compressor
    B. Rago mount
    C. Viar 1 gallon tank

    The price on eBay put them about 2/3rd’s the cost of RCI’s and I took the bait. I guess they are due for a review:

    Overall I was very impressed with the Rival engine and trans skid.

    Install was easy and they mounted directly to my vehicle. My only complaint is with the supplied hardware. Some of it is sub-par and I stripped one nut on install. (I’ll be replacing them as they fail with higher grade stuff.)

    Rolled them for a few K now and took the 4runner on my trip last month to Montana. On the trail to Thompson Lake they saw abuse that I felt would have heavily dented the stock thin sheet metal skids mine came with. Although they show slight wear, I am verty happy with how they performed.


    The lube tech had no problem using the supplied access hole for the first oil change.

    Thanks for the review man. Much appreciated. I think I will put the order in since RCI, including their Laborday deal, is still almost $1200. May I ask what hardware did fail?

    The manual states a very light torque spec and my 1/4' drive impact stripped the provided nuts. I found a suitable alternative at the local Ace hardware store.

    Added the switch panel, debaged, and did a little test fitting of the wheels in the rear. Everything but ORI's are delivered and those should be in soon. I can't look at these uninstalled parts any longer. I'll pull the diff's and start the suspension build in January.

    A buddy and I pulled the diffs for 488's all around and an ARB locker up front over the weekend. Pulled the rack too. Next move is to make room for the LC200 rack.

    Yup, TONS of chopping, reinforcing and welding going down. Also missing a solid 1/3rd of the original driver side motor mount.

    Only have time after work and on the weekends to do anything to it but it is getting closer. Currently fighting the PS hard line routes. Serious difference in girth between these two so there isn't much room left for anything else. Almost ready for more pics.

    Progress report!

    RCLT and MarRack are in, so is the rear suspension.

    Had to make a little room underneath the motor mount. Reinforced everything with .25 DOM tube steel

    1. Paint and install sector shaft

    3. Grind off wherever it rubs
    4. Repeat until it doesn't

    Took it out to break in the diffs and test everything out. First time it's moved since January, feels great to have it moving again! Rear diff locker stuck on, the light flashes. Front shocks need tuned. Everything else went well. Here's a few pics.

    This car is an absolute unit! Still getting a feel but I’ve wheeled pretty hard and it’s held up. Also did a 4k road trip from OK to Montana including almost all of the COBDR and part of WY's. It does exactly what I want it to.

    RCLT might be the best LT kit available IMO if you're willing to put in the effort on the MarRack.

    ORI’s have a steep learning curve but slap. Almost unlimited tunability. I bring the nitrogen tank with me and set them stiff for the ride up or high speed stuff then go soft for the trails and rocks. Usually have about 4.5 inches of shaft exposed. So far that's what it likes

    BudBuilt Skids/Sliders/Hidden Winch, Cornfed 2/1 XREAS lift, Custom Fab Rear Bumper
    That Nguyenworks rear looks so awesome! I'm having a local shop fab up a 1.75" DOM tube bumper for me with the receiver hitch cut into the crossmember. I measured about 4 inches of departure clearance gain, but it looks like the Nguyenworks with the crossmember chop gets you almost 7-9 inches over stock.

    Are you strapping your spare in the back behind the rear seat?

    I'm considering 34" tires on the next swap out, so I know my options are a rear swing out or strapping it down inside.
