Back in 2019 I bought the HIKARI LED head lights off of Amazon. They were pretty budget friendly and seemed to work pretty decent. My main complaint is they seemed to get "washed" out in the city lighting. But overall I was pretty happy with them. However earlier this year, I noticed the driver side headlight was flickering a little bit. A few weeks later it complete went dead. I was super disappointed that they only last a couple years.

    Sorry old crappy picture

A couple months ago, LASFIt posted about going their "Style" program where they give a discount for your reviews. I was selected to try out their PRO Dual-Cooling headlights. They came extremely well packaged, which is a pretty good sign right off the bat!

The Lights themselves looked really nice with a massive cooling fan on them
    [IMG]Untitled by redrunner87, on Flickr

The other cool thing(no pun intended!) is the fan in the dust cover. I think the heat is what ultimately killed my previous LED's, so my hope is that the extra cooling will make these last longer.

Here is what they look like during the day
    [IMG]Untitled by redrunner87, on Flickr

..and some night shots. It is still pretty bright out till well after 9pm here so I haven't gotten to use them too much. But so far I really like them. I will keep this thread updated as I get more use out of them.

I got these as well. I am really happy with them. It was tough to get the dust cover/fan on due to the fan on the bulb housing. I broke a tab on one of the dust cover/fans and LasFit responded very quickly and sent out a replacement. Great headlights and awesome customer service.

Stock cover is pretty seal from dust and moisture right? Trying to understand how this can keep dust and moisture out?

There is a vent that points down that is the fan outlet. It is possible to get moisture in there, but it would have to work to get there. I have had them for probably 6 months and no indication of dust/moisture in the housing.

What @Normantaco said. Plus the fan is blowing air out which should help as well. These seal up well as well, just have the added fan. These are made specifically for the 4Runner so I assume they would account for that

Yeah, you lose the total seal of the stock dust covers, but when the fan is on it is pushing air out and should prevent dust from getting in.

That makes sense. I ran a dusty trail last weekend with the lights off(fan off) and didn't notice any dust in the headlights. But I will double check when I wash her this weekend and see.

The problem with putting any led in the stock housing is that you are losing quite a bit of light because of the sideways mounted projectors.

I agree not the "best" solution but they are definitely better than the stock halogens. I used to drive a lot on mountain county roads with no lights on them. With the stock lights, you couldn't see anything. LED's definitely help in that area.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
Conventionally this is true, but it can be done. Lasfit appears to have done it. I've driven in pitch black night on back roads with no street lights, and I didn't even need my high beams. I haven't touched my high beams at all since installing these two years ago. They're fantastic.

Yep. I even tried "hi powered" halogens like Philips xtreme vision but LED bulbs are by far better. With the help of Fogs it will give a nice wide vision. Different LED bulbs give different field of view. With my experience GTR Ultra2 & Nilight LEDs gave a really good field of view. I used to have 35w HIDs and GTR Ultra2 lighting was same. Also LEDs take less current than high powered halogens so no risk of damage to wires or no overtime work for the alternator. Good LEDs have better life expectancy and i remember Phillips xtrem vision box says life expectancy is 300ish hours way less than regular halogens.

LED light bulbs are better than halogens, 100%. It's difficult for me to have a clear vision during the night with my former halogen headlights, so i got them replaced with LEDs. The led bulbs were purchased from AUXITO, The lights are brighter, whiter and have the correct beam pattern, and high beams do a very good job of Illuminating the road further away.

Just got mine yesterday. Weekend project to install all of these, the LASFit switch back turn signals and amber/white selectable fogs.

I just got the fogs, haven't installed them yet. But I really like the idea of selectable colors on the fogs

So can you give an update on the performance of the headlights, are they worth it?

Now that it is darker earlier I've been using mine more and they are 1000x better than stock and 100x better than my Amazon LEDs. The cutoff lines are amazing. These pictures don't do them justice. First picture is Lasfit LED headlights and white fogs and second is Amber fogs. With my Amazon led yellow fogs you couldnt even tell thry were on.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but in my humble professional opinion, the output of those fogs is pretty poor.

That's fair and everyone has opinions. Like I said, pictures don't do them justice. They are light years better than stock and my Amazon lights. Are they BD or Dad's? No, but they are cheaper for better performance than stock

Thanks for the response. Have you had anyone flash their lights at you? Any heat build up in the assembly?

I've been running the LasFit headlights for several months now and the output is significantly better than stock and even much better than the H9-H11 swap. I'm very pleased with them and have had no heat or performance issues. I very rarely have anyone flash their brights at me, same frequency as when I was stock headlights.

I think that's the first time I heard LED bulb swap is better than H9 swap. I see many say H9 is better than LEDs.

Remember, most drop in LED bulbs tend to flood the foreground with light giving one the impression of "better lighting." Unfortunately, they do this at the expense of light further down the road. Now, if you're only running trails in 4Lo, this is a great thing. If you're driving 70 MPH down a dark expressway, it's a very bad thing.

These have a very distinct cutoff line that is in line with the stock bulbs cutoff. I have a 100 mile commute daily and get flashed with the same frequency as when I had stock bulbs. I see plenty of crappy LED bulbs on my daily commute and have faith in these bulbs. I've driven against them from another car and they don't seem to have the broadly scattered light from the poorly designed LED bulbs.

One of these days I may do it. Lastfit has a good reputation and looks like a well thought out solution. I like your pics @RedRunner87, they seem to do the product justice.

Does anyone have reservations about running these on the street? Doesn't Lastfit (ane Diode Dynamics, etc.) state that they are for offroad use? What if you got into an accident and your insurance co. figures it out? Not to hijack the thread, it's just something that bothers me a bit.

That disclaimer is added to all LED bulbs. Don't overthink it - if not using OEM housing especially.
OEM housing are normally correctly aimed.

Damned if you use the LEDs, damned if you don't and you can't see. The stock bulbs were legendarily bad.

Auxito Headlight LEDS are well aimed. Never been flashed.
You may want to consider polarized glasses or anti glare lenses for night driving.
