Merry Christmas from Brisbane, Ca. Just picked her up today from Hansel Toyota. Barely fit in my garage so no plans to lift for now - unless I remove the roof rack.

Boys, Just got the rig wrapped and ceramic coated. Shout out to MAR Quality Protection (Newark, CA). Their work is outstanding and prices are competitive. Ask for Mike or Raj. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Hello from Sonoma County. Recently joined the forum after picking this up just over a week ago and am loving it. Coming from a 2016 F150. Happy to be back in a Toyota. BC12BC0D-CDF7-4F6E-AF26-00CFEAD861DD.jpg

This thread seems quiet. How are all the Bay Area people doing? What all have you been doing lately with your 4Runners? Any trips? Upgrades?

    Doing well, how about yourself?

I bought my 4runner back in March and was mostly working on deferred maintenance and cleaning. In May, I took a 8 day, 2500 mile road trip to Arizona and back that involved lesser travel highways, primitive camping, and some off-roading. What an excellent road trip vehicle.

Hey there! Just finishing up my build, pretty simple and is setup for my family’s needs with camping and some wheeling. Was in Big Sur recently and had the best time. Norcal has so many places to explore. If y’all are ever in the south bay, there is a 4x4 meet at seafood city in milpitas on the first Friday’s. I’ll likely be out there next week, drop by and say what’s up! 46B1FF26-FD6C-4C42-B343-63F47E89F9AE.jpg

Nice stuff guys. Those tires are massive! How are they affecting highway driving? Any thoughts on needing a regear? Did the lift take care of rubbing or did you need to do a BMC or any cutting?

I'm relatively new here. Got my 2022 in January and have been learning a lot coming from awd vehicles in snow and dirt. Thought this might take me farther on more difficult tracks and fire roads. Just recently did an off-road class in holster that was fun. About to do a winching recovery class there this weekend.

Really hoping to learn more about trails around Truckee, Sierra Buttes, and eastern Sierra.

highway driving isn’t too bad, but a regear is certainly in line down the road. I can definitely feel it working going up mountains, especially if i’m fully loaded. Overall not so bad. I had to do an aggressive bmc, trim and flatten pinch welds, and trim rocker panel caps and bumper to make em fit, but no rubbing with daily driving except on an incline going full lock in reverse.

Have fun with your rig! It’s amazing how capable these things are right off the lot!

New 4Runner owner here... you all have some really nice rigs ! Just bought a 22 SR5 Premium instead of waiting 6 months and over paying for an ORP. Just wanted to know if anyone can recommend a good shop in the south bay that will install a leveling kit. I am not sure I want to go full lift just yet., coming from a Subaru Outback, factory feels high to me ... I do want to remove the factory rake and put on some different tires and wheels for sure. Any suggestions on a decent shop will be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

SouthBay autoworks is a good friend of mine. He’ll be able to do it. Also the guys at Vex motorsports are solid.

I believe there is a gentleman here on the forum that does installs in San Jose. Can't recall the member's username.

There is also a shop in Livermore - not on the Peninsula, but they do very good work - Modified Motorsports at 925-292-9093.

You could also look for a business called 4 Wheel Parts - they have shops in various places including outside of California - they specialize in in suspension work.
