3 vs 6 point balance?

    For everyone here who is more intelligent on this stuff, is there such a thing as a 3 vs 6 point way to balance tires? My parents have a 4 runner as well & took a trip to the dealer for the inspection, when talking to the guy who sold them the vehicle he himself sold himself a 4 runner with the steering wheel shimmy as well. He claims there is a 3 point and 6 point way to balance a tire and swears this is the issue but nobody takes him serious there. Seeing if this is a real thing. Thanks forum!
